2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

I’ll be surprised if John Wall can even put up post injury D. Rose numbers. He’s 30 and has barely played basketball in the last 3 years.

PG had his best season next to Russ...KD is the best player but everyone else is a wash.
They should have stayed together. Best compliments to each other they have ever played with and they both are the same caliber of player and have that loser mindset.

I think the trade is good for wall. Gets to go to a warm city, a new one at that, he can get away from his family and friends and the DC party scene. Change is good. But damn. Hardly anyone stays with one team anymore.

Trading for Wall (after injury) or current Russ at those contracts would be the most Knick move ever.

Especially, right before a very stacked draft. You either go all in and get two guys or build slowly. One guy isnt moving any needle and you'll be stuck in purgatory again.
What’s the Knicks timeline? Gonna be terrible for at least another 3 years.

What I'm suggesting is keeping the team salary cap but getting rid of max contracts. Teams would be able to pay top players like LeBron or KD $60m but they would still be held to the $109m salary cap ($132m luxury tax). If the Lakers had AD and LeBron both making $50m+ per year, The rest of the roster would be very thin. This would make it near impossible to have more than two superstars on a team unless they were willing to give up tens of millions of dollars per season to team up
I see. Essentially saying one 1 max type of player would be on each team.

I actually like to see multiple stars on a team though. But once a team has 3 star level players, then its not as good to watch.

This ends up screwing the mid and lower tier guys. It'd be amazing for the fans and the league, but the NBPA would never go for it.
