On the fanbase chat -- Memphis is a primetime basketball city just based on HS and old college days. That grit n grind era really got a lot of Memphians to buy into the franchise because prior to that no one really liked them.
This 'Nxtgen era' is taking Memphians awhile to get more into, but what Ja is doing makes it easier. Its a lot of local people I know that generally don't even talk about or like the Grizz, but definitely took notice in Ja last night in a preseason game lol. The sad part is a lot of fans here don't really like backing losing teams or lose interest when they are bad. Grizz were lucky enough last year to have Ja/JJJ + be competitive enough to make the play-in tourney. So, I'm hoping they can build off of that and not go backwards, even though other teams out West got better.
