Probably because it was nobody's business besides Ime, the chick and their families up until Ime (and perhaps the chick) persisted with the affair. Sounds like they gave him an opportunity to end it and he didn't. Then the law firm was hired to direct Celtics brass on how to proceed when it was clear he DGAF. And at that point the law firm probably told them to keep everything hush hush while they investigated.

Ime didn't even tell NIa this was coming when he knew it was about to blow up. That's pretty foul. Probably embarrassing as hell for her.
