what do your hawks need to do in the off-season? The conference got better and they didn’t
That’s the tricky thing. Like you said, there was no internal improvement besides Trae.
They struggled with traps on Trae all year, they struggled with Trae on the bench all year. And ALL of these guys got paid…. to do what?
So literally ALL of those guys should be on the block. But that’s easiest thing to say, the tricky thing is finding the right deal.
But looking at other teams that are looking to make changes there’s not a lot out there.
Utah, San Antonio, Sacramento, Knicks, Hornets, Indy? Anything that those teams are realistically parting with aren’t really changing much for you. Maybe you check in with Masai about Siakam?
The issues with the traps are embarrassing for a professional team & that’s partly on Nate. Guys literally don’t know where to be.
Also Not leveraging mismatches consistently because you’re only comfortable playing one way is partly on him as well.
So could look into upgrading the bench. Vogel or if/when Quin Snyder becomes available.
Beyond that, it’s really tough to see a path for meaningful improvement.
