2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

That's wild I usually just root for my teams and call it a day 🤷‍♂️
Absolutely nothing wrong with that, and I hope no one has ever told you that you're not a fan of your team if you also don't hate this other team. I say that because it happens with me all the time, especially with the Celtics, me being a huge Lakers fan. I don't hate the Celtics. I hate that they have more titles than us, but I have a healthy respect for them, not hate. And I've had people tell me "What? You don't hate the Celtics? Not a real Lakers fan."

Eff that.

They'll lose the Right fans, but gain the right fans.

And that's what we need as a society. In all facets, we need 'them' to diminish in numbers, and asking 'them' to chill and play nice hasn't worked, so eff 'em. Starve them.

Honestly, 'they' need to die out, rs.

Straight up this. I really liked Baseball as a kid cause of my Grandpa he loved the Braves. But I had cooled off on baseball for a while mainly because I started getting into other sports as I got older so I didn't follow as heavy but would still watch Braves games here and there. The pervasiveness of the conservative white fan culture didn't give me a big reason to wanna get fully back into it either. Add on top of that In the last few years the Braves genuinely lost me for a while with their move out the city to Cobb county. Its hard not to want them to do well at all cause I still see them as the team I loved as a kid and the club my grandpa loved so there's still that emotional connection but man that move pissed me the **** off they can say what they want about "season ticket holders" but they decided the white fans mattered more and dipped off to where they and their money was some classic white flight BS.

If not for the emotional connection cause of my grandpa and those childhood memories I don't think I would've considered paying the Braves any attention anymore Acuna being so fye the last couple years helped bring me back in to watching them a bit too that helps lol. I don't think ill ever go to a Braves game in Cobb county though...

I was curious how baseball would respond to what's recently been going on in society and seeing how much these displays are pissing off that conservative white fanbase...ngl Im loving it

Sometimes hate could just be from a longstanding history of it always being there in a rivalry but at times a sign of respect even if you hate them.

I wish people hated the Mariners.

Do you think people hate the Mariners? No, because they've been trash for 90% of their existence. Well nvm, maybe I actually do hate the Mariners

Sports hate can be complicated.

I've always been the same way towards the Lakers. Never beef until we meet in the finals.

The Duke hate is always funny - y’all don’t hate DUKE UNIVERSITY you hate Duke Men’s Basketball and even then you hate Coach K

I knew few A's fans that hated Ichiro, does that bring warmness to your hateful heart?

As a Niner fan, when I hear about the Seahawks losing and didn't catch the game, I wholeheartedly look forward to seeing highlights of seeing them crashing and burning.

I still don’t even get it - the players the last ten years (outside of Grayson) have been likable lol
Something born in the 90's for me. There are def. years I don't pay Duke any mind though and it's never really a hate a particular players  (Grayson would be hated anywhere and Battier kinda annoyed me)

But like I said it's all in fun for me  couldn't stand Jay Williams (cause he was good at Duke) but rooted for him when Chicago drafted him.

zion was the only exception to my hate for duke

But why? Did you attend an ACC school?

The teams I don’t like are rivals of my teams - and even then there are players on their teams I like

Like FSU always gives Duke a tough time and I LOVE Leonard Hamilton

Clemson was a weird one cause I rooted for them against Bama and liked Watson

yea was like bron in the ‘16 finals..

plus feel like we didn’t know know dabo was the level of douche he is then

i need LSU to save us from both bama and Clemson
