That COVID time off screwed up the Mets win streak. I’ve seen deGrom go from relative obscurity (he originally was supposed to be a reliever) to ace/2 time Cy Young winner. Seen him pitch a couple of times at Citi Field. When everybody was saying that Thor was the ace, I told them “deGrom is, wait and see.”. The damned Mets aren’t doing right by him. He doesn’t get the W and they nearly lost the game. The team has enough hitting to score more runs but it’s like they zone out when deGrom starts. That time will come when deGrom says he’s had enough and he’ll keep it moving and deservedly so.
