2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

Harvey’s career is done, if it wasn’t already. He doesn’t have the talent at this point to justify all that baggage.

That said. This obviously is going to be magnified due to Skaggs tragic passing. But MLB is delusional and has their head in the sand if they think this and all the drug use is an isolated incident.

Matzek is a clown. Lemme guess. They blew a 3-1 series lead on purpose in 2020 because they didn’t want to win a title that year.

Here’s my thing with the whole discrediting the 2020 season thing though. I know a few people who in June of 2020 were saying they should just cancel the MLB season and start up again in 2021 as it would be too short a season to crown a real champion. I don’t agree, but I can respect the consistency on their end.

But I’m not trying to hear it from anyone who during 2020 that was begging for baseball to come back, wanted professional sports to come back and showed any type of excitement when the MLB season started. Because why would you get excited for something and want a season which ultimately wouldn’t be valid in your eyes? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Adding to that. 3 of the 4 teams who made the LCS in 2020 made it back to the LCS in 2021, which validates things to me. The best teams rose to the top regardless of how many games were played. Tampa, the one team who didn’t ended up winning 100 games.

Baseball was the first sport back post-COVID and now they’re showing they never were really that smart…. waiting for both to cave will go well for both sides.

no one questions the Lightning's "bubble Cup". I get it's HoCkEy but most of these people just hating.

Was thinking that. Tampa pretty much slid under the radar while the Lakers and Dodgers got all the attention when it came to the bubble title discrediting.

I’ve seen people try to pull that corny stuff on the Lakers title, yet they watched the entire NBA finals that year, along with all the playoffs. Why waste your time watching something you’re only to deem not legitimate if your favorite team didn’t win it.

The NBA thread and MLB threads on here were filled with excitement in July 2020 in anticipation of everything starting back up. I don’t the logic of those who got all excited for all that in the first place if they were just going to discredit the results.

well Tampa has gone back to back. That kinda puts the bubble talk out of the question when they win the next year too

I think it being hockey and no one really caring about hockey helps them fly under the radar wins it comes to this. Going beyond the 2020 bubble, last season was a 56 game NHL season where teams only played teams within their modified divisions until the conference finals. If hockey was a more popular sport, I think there would be more nitpicking of the Lightning’s back to back cup victories (which by all accounts I disagree with, that team was and still is that damn good).

All that being said. All 31 teams played under the same circumstances. Aside from the Islanders in last years ECF, no team really challenged Tampa at all in the playoffs the last two seasons.
