He has an opt out after this year so he'll be on the market again next year if he pitches well. He's going to have to get past the 6th mote than 3/32 starts to get the money he wants though.

If they announced the Snell signing before severing ties with Renel the news might be different. As it is, this has that damage control announcement vibe to it and it isn’t working.

Difference between those guys and Soto though are staggering. Snell hasn’t really shown he can go deep in games despite the Cy Young. Bellinger has a solid year after pretty much everyone wrote him off. And Chapman went incredibly cold after a hot start last season. Soto has been pretty consistent.
