2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

I've heard people say/argue that grown men shouldn't bring a glove it's for kids.

I don't own a glove so I'm boxing fools out and barehanding everything kanyeshrug

I don't bring my gloves to games. I own made in Japan gloves that retail over $600.

Dude, bringing a glove to the game is tradition. Yeah, you're probably not gonna catch a foul ball with it but it shows the baseball spirit. And it doesn't affect anyone else, that's their business. Sunflower seeds, on the other hand, and spitting the shells everywhere gets the side eye. I saw these 2 guido Mets fans on TV spitting them out like they were in the dugout. Extra af.

FOH

if you are an adult wearing a glove at a baseball then it's time to re-evaluate life

Lmao. People eat sunflower seeds everywhere. Gloves at a game is more of a kid thing.

What's the reasoning, though?

wearing a glove is a kid thing, if you are a grown adult trying to catch foul balls, well...lord help you

I always thought of baseballs traditions to be timeless. Catching a foul ball or HR ball is awesome regardless of age. After all, we're there cause were fans right? Of baseball and the team?

Idk I guess I just see it differently.

I'm not bringing my glove to the game to sprint across bleachers and dive for a foul ball, or because I can't bare hand it. I'm bringing it because I feel like it's tradition and it'd be cool to catch a ball at a MLB game if it happens to come right at me.

It's holding on too much to your childhood. I still play baseball but would never bring my gloves to a game. It's always a mid 30s or early 40s guy with a beat down glove from when they were 14 and even with a glove probably forgot how to catch a pop fly. If a ball came near me I'd just use my cap.

man if i ever make an ESPN type foul ball catch i wouldn't wanna be seen doing it with a glove. Bare hands only lol

i understand the logic of bringing one but me personally i would leave that to my kid

Ive never caught one, but at this point if I did, I would prob just give it to a kid near me

2 bozos reaching for a ball they should've stayed away from. And isn't Judge like 6'7? Weak effort.
