2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

We still can’t rule out the possibility that Ippei is getting paid under the table to put on this dog and pony show to take the fall for Shohei.

Manfred has to be involved in this cover up.

He needs to reconsider his stance on letting Pete Rose into the HoF.

I always thought the MLB cannot punish Ohtani until the governing body of Japanese baseball decide to do something about it. Ohtani is an iconic everywhere in the world

It’s all part of the game, gotta use it to your advantage…And it ain’t all sweet, the tank years are ROUGH
It shouldn't be though. Teams shouldn't be rewarded for tanking in any sport though. The funny part is the O's had no fans during those years and now the bandwagon is filling up quick.

That’s the leagues problem not the O’s, just navigating the system in place. O’s always have a strong fan base but like most places they not showing up for big losers, so no surprise folks are coming back

This the same buzz it was last time there were good in the early-mid 2010’s

I mean you can justify it however you like but it's trash that a team is rewarded for it. Same with the Astros.

“In total, Mizuhara wagered more than $180 million on sports, placing dozens of bets per day over a more than two-year period. He fell more than $40 million in debt to the illegal bookmaker—not named in the complaint, but previously reported to be Mathew Bowyer—and stole more than $16 million from Ohtani while hiding the bank transactions from the baseball player.”

How the heck he wager over $180 million on bets?

This doesn’t even make sense. Ohtani made $43M in SIX seasons with LAA 🤨
