2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

Don’t worry Met fans…

We’re going to win the WS for you.

We’re also going to do it for the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants fans who were shafted by having their teams move to LA.

We got this. We’ll hold you down.

That’s what the Yanks in my life are telling me 🤣 Good luck with that. LA is a beast. You have to contain their hitting and hope that your offense can blow them out of the water. No easy feat. They’re going to score. You can’t shut them out. But they can shut you out. And they don’t chase. You have to throw strikes. They’re going to make you give them the pitches they want.

#FreeMikeTrout
I honestly don’t think he even cares. Sorry team, less pressure, less limelight. He just chills and collects a fat check.

The angels have been so horrendous the last 10 years I don’t think anybody would blame him for requesting a trade. I just hope he doesn’t do it when he’s over the hill and now you see a 37 year old injured trout bounce from team to team trying to win

Man never wanted to be in the big lights
I don't think it's fair to say that he never did, because we literally have no proof.
The following is entirely possible and plausible:
When they had him, Pujols, & Sho, he thought they would accomplish big things. He played big, things crumbled, his body starting feeling the effects, so he was like, "I'll just re-sign here."

There's a monumental difference between "I really don't want big lights," and "I had hopes for big lights and they never happened and I'm okay with that."
Can’t blame anyone but Trout. If he wanted to leave he woulda been gone. He chose to stay and knew what came with it.
Absolutely.
You don't know how a team is going to be moving forward when you're signing a rookie contract.
Then the next time he re-signed, maybe he thought that being in the playoffs and being a contender was possible.
I don't know how many times he has extended or re-signed or whatever, but whatever his last contract was, he knew how unserious that franchise was at that point, no question.
