2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

Think he gets in next year. The only new guys added to the list next season are Cole Hamels and Ryan Braun. Think Jones and Beltran are going to be the headliners.

#6 all time in singles. Over 2,500. Almost 700 of them are infield singles. :lol

#386 all time in extra base hits. 575.

More infield singles than extra base hits. :lol

Most overrated hitter in history, period.

Full-on Yankees bias. They HATED Griffey, and punished him for it. That's where those three non-votes came from. You know it DESTROYS them that Jeter got that one no vote from a Boston voter in retaliation for Rivera being unanimous the year before.

#1 in making baseball weirdos think that getting on base is a bad thing.

Next year’s class is atrocious. Maybe Hamels eventually? Year after isn’t great either. I suspect Beltran and Andruw next year with King Felix, K-Rod, Utley and Pedroia having a shot the year after.

It’s Jones and Beltran next year for sure.

Looking at the results/percentages, Utley more than likely in 2027.

We may start seeing Arod’s votes take a bump up with the next few ballots not having great names.

Felix should take a significant bump with that too. I don’t see Hamels taking any of his votes.

2028 is Pujols year for sure. Which may push Arod further back a year if he makes that jump. And Yadier Molina may actually be a legit candidate based off his defense.

2029 will be Miguel Cabrera and and possibly Zack Grienke who may take away votes from some pitchers.

I think next year we see some names fall off like Tori Hunter, David Right, K-Rod, and Mark Buerhle, who all had either barely 10% or fewer votes this year.

I don’t think you can put A-Rod, Manny or Petite in out of fairness to the others who have been shafted and removed from ballots. Baseball needs to do some kind of special exception/asterisk/honor for everyone that contributed to baseball during those years. Steroid era rejuvenated baseball and juice or not, those guys still performed at the highest level.

They already put a steroid user in though. And chances are some others might be in already as well.

Seems like they forgave everyone in the roids era except Barry. They didn't like him before he started either tho.
