2026 NBA Draft Thread

Perk said he'd seriously consider taking Acuff first
He should be the first PG off the board. Has NBA strength and the best ast/to ratio of all the other point guards in the projected lottery. He should go top 6. No one is cracking the top 4 though. (AJ, Boozer, Peterson, Wilson in any order)

Working the media already.

If DP personality traits are a negative then AJ is definitely a plus on that front.

One thing Perk also said this morning, that actually wasn’t dumb, was comping Peterson to Milwaukee Ray Allen. Don’t hate it.

Dunno what you mean even by “he doesn’t show it”… he does, just look at that last layup attempt as the most recent example

He’s clearly an above average athlete, like a Ray or Beal. Good shiftiness, can get to spots. Just like them. Doesn’t jump off the screen athletically though.

Not even close to an elite one like some of the names I’ve seen tossed around with him.

I just don’t really understand what I’m missing when I see people say stuff like he’s the best guard prospect in a decade(s) and that he should even go 1.

He seems like an average iso guy and doesn’t get a ton of rim pressure. Hasn’t shown any playmaking chops. Typically not the description of a generational guard prospect.

Just since 2020, he DEFINITELY doesn’t seem to be a better prospect than Ant, Cade, or Harper.

Ant as a prospect is an interesting one you’re filing, because I think Wiseman and his 11 ******* games at Memphis compared to Lamelo and Ant was pretty much a quagmire of “is this the next, best 7-foot center with little sample size” versus “Facebook Live king Lamelo” versus “a Georgia team that doesn’t make the tournament or even get close” guy.

I was on the hill of either Ant, or the 7-footer that only played 11 games and could be a game changer-but-we-don’t-know angle.

From a physical standpoint Ray Allen is definitely the comp. Both are 6’5 and narrow. Solid but not freak athletes. Both great shooters. Because of the times, Petersons game is more like Beal/Booker. But from a physical and athletic standpoint I always liked the Ray Allen comparison

And to me personally he is nowhere as physically gifted as a Kobe, Wade, MJ, or even an Ant or Mitchell. I think that’s why I can’t compare him to those guys. I personally don’t understand the Kobe/MJ comparisons he was getting in the summer

There’s zero argument for it going off this year’s tape.

If he’s not right physically he should’ve sat.
