2026 NBA Draft Thread

Peterson barely enters the paint

Houston pretty good defensively. He can’t get by his guy. Don’t understand how this isn’t a red flag.

AJ and Boozer are clearly on their own tier.

DP is with Caleb, Acuff, and all the other guards.

Crazy how DP went from best guard prospect ever like 3 months ago, to 3rd best prospect and under :lol. Never seen anything quite like it. Going to be an interesting storyline going forward.

I like his floor a lot. Awesome 3 and D guy. Bigger than the other guards. Maybe still a small chance he could be more like a lead guard type like HS. That’s why I’d still pick him over Acuff and Flemmings, who are both superior college players, IMO.

Do think there could be an interesting Wilson vs DP debate depending on who is picking.

Give me all the Peterson stock y'all don't want, believe he's been super hampered this year physically and will be elite at the next level.

With that being said, I don't think you select him ahead of Boozer/Dybantsa at the moment.

I can even justify drafting Wilson over him too (think I'm higher on him than most as well).

Acuff great college player, but I'm good on volume heavy small guards. Not my cup of tea, hard to build around those type of guys being on the floor come playoff time unless he turns into a god level shooter.

Regardless, what an awesome, awesome draft this is lining up to be. Would be thrilled to get any of the top four guys at #1 most years. Crazier when you consider Flagg reclassified and age-wise should still be with this group. Straight up seems like the deep draft in talent since 96.

If the Knicks go to the finals can we put this hard to build around a small guard narrative to bed? Traditionally I agree. Idk about in today’s NBA, I think it can happen. At least as a number 2 option

Curry is absolutely NOT A SMALL GUARD. And God level shooting gives him the advantage that allows him to play off-ball, plus he's strong enough to be able to guard up a position ( can guard two-guards or shooters well).

Significantly bigger than Dame. Who is as good as a small guard can ever be, but we saw it in the playoffs time-and-time again with him. Never had a true star around him in his prime but it was hard to make a defense work with a guy who is going to get hunted to such a degree.

Life-long Knick fans, but the team will never make the finals with Brunson as the best player (I'd actually argue KAT is the best player on the team although I know that is a really unpopular opinion). But as great as he was last playoffs, the team was capped by having a 5'11 shot-hunting guard who doesn't get others involved.

With that said, I like Acuff a lot. Analytic twitter guys putting him as a late first rounder which they routinely do is nasty work, but at the same time, hooper twitter putting him as the number #1 pick is equally delusional. He's a high-lotto guy who I would be thrilled to have on my team as well. Great shooting, low turnovers, he'll run offenses at an elite level, no question to me. Just if I'm building a team to win a chip, I'm weary of that archetype.
