Even if you have collections on your report?
I think they didMy Credit Karma scores are all within 1-2 points of my actual FiCO scores. Did Credit Karma change their scoring model?
You've had your car for more than 6 months. Go to your local credit union and ask to refinance your car. Request them to keep the current term you have, you should be able to save a good chunk of money while keeping yourself on track to finishing the loan on time. 21% is just appallingly high for an interest rate on a car.So heres a update on my credit situation. Started out with a 540 last August. I got the Capital One secured credit card and put $250 on it. Used it a good bit and made multiple payments per month while keeping a balance each month. In December, I applied for the Quicksilver card and got approved for a $500 limit. I also got approved for the walmart, old navy, and pacsun cards in the same time frame. In February, i got approved for a auto loan through Capital One (although my interest was 21% but can easily make my payments each month). I've been paying my note on time and am ahead a half payment. I went to Vegas for memorial day weekend, and asked Capital One for a credit limit increase on my Quicksilver card. They gave me a $1k credit limit increase! Now my limit on the quicksilver is $1500 and on the secured card its $550 (they gave me a $300 credit limit increase a few months ago. I heard they barely give them on secured cards). I'm really pleased because i honestly thought I would never be able to have credit again

Who here has the citi 2% cash back card
One more month until I can request a CLI with Discover. Anybody ever got one unusually quick without requesting it?

Claiming that you ruin your credit by getting a pre approved loan from a CU then going into a dealership.
Hell last time I bought a car the dealership pulled my credit at 3-4 different banks :x .
All auto loan inquiries within 30 days count as 1 inquiry, that guy is full of **** like most finance managers.
Their sole job is to make the dealership money, and put more money into their pockets by adding on unneeded stuff at signing.
Weird that I did not get instant approval on the new Chase Free Unlimited card.
My FICO score is a 791.
Loans I currently have:
1) student loans
2) small revolving credit card debt
3) loan for my motorcycle
Figured I would've gotten an instant approval.
That's commonplace. If you have your SSN stolen and fraud is committed you can disputes and have a new SSN assigned. But the company who issued the card takes the loss.Following up on this:
Turns out they wanted to verify that it was actually me who applied for the card. Gave them a call to verify and was approved over the phone.
I dont either man after my one run in with them. Dudes just straight up lie and they are good at doing it so what that dude was saying just sounded like he wanted to save face for what his profession does. I understand if those guys want to make dollars for the dealership and themselves but don't try and tell lies to people to make that happen
Dude really said a pre-approved loan from a CU of all places will ruin your credit :\

Why though? Plus the annual fee
Does Amex even help your credit that much? I mean probably if you're racking up 1k or more every single month?
I know it's a charge card so not sure how it affects your credit since it doesn't have a set limit on your credit file.
I have the regular green Amex btw
