Unfortunately, you are correct on the American Men's side I think for up and comers. I am sure at some point, someone new will emerge, but Blake is oft-injured and Roddick has been underwhelming at times. It seems like his new coach and new mentality may be helping him out though, and who knows, maybe he wins a slam this year. It would be cool if the Bryan bros. in doubles were Nike sponsored but I believe they are Adidas and most folks couldn't give a rip about doubles anyways, so there is little money to be made there.  Â
Remember when there were Agassi sigs, Sampras Sigs, Courier Sigs, and Chang was with Reebok Pump, etc...Hell even second tier Americans had some clothing/shoe deals, albeit smaller brands, but it was cool. Tennis was pretty exciting to watch and there were some personalities following up McEnroe and Connors. I hated Connors, but he was good for Tennis to some degree. Then the Euros with Lendl, Edberg, Muster, Becker, and their Adidas, Fila, and Lotto! wow, how things have changed quite a bit. Tennis is pretty much Nike and adidas, with a few other exceptions, and most of the stuff up until recently has been pretty bland. I am glad they are bringing back some neons, brighter colors, and incorporating the new technology. I saw those French Open Nadals last year, and instead went with the Blue/Pink with the Rafa Bull on the instep. Haven't worn yet, as I am still using my Vapor 3s in carolina blue/obsidian. I really like those quite a bit, but also like playing in trainers, trainer 1s, air trainer max 91s, etc... Sorry to ramble. It seems as if you know tennis well, so I figured I would share a little bit. Hopefully others feel free to chime in on this thread.
