I really liked the phantom vsn 1 for defensive mid and defensive play.. wonder how the 2 going to feel and be. Same sole plate too.

I'm a massive fan of the phantom vision, after only playing in low-cut boots for years and years. I understand the boot got a lot of flack from "professional reviewers" like Josh, et al., for a slightly raised profile on foot, but I found them massively comfortable (and at least psychologically effective), while playing some of my best in them. I hope it's not an update just for update's sake (like replacing the Hypervenom 1 - phenomenal boot - with the HV2), but am excited to give it a go.

I visually like the 2 better then the 1. Will be excited to hear the performance reviews on them. But after just having bought my superfly 7s i will (hopefully....probably....who knows i buy too many shoes in general) not be in the market for new boots

I'm probably in the minority, but aesthetically those PV2's are just meh to me. First gen don't look that great either, never tried a pair on though

I haven't bought a new pair of cleats since last year. I've been beating down my Volt Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Elite AG for the last 6 months or so. I recently purchased a pair of Neymar Jr Nike Mercurial Vapor FG 11's for $65 shipped. They are solid.

Pretty sure I've posted this website in previous editions of this thread. They specialize in selling pro footballer's match worn/issued boots. It's pretty cool to see how heavily modified and different some of these players boots are from what is available for us in the public to buy.

For example look at thiago silva's t90 laser boots from the 2010 world cup

Those articles are awesome...

...and simultaneously make me cringe at how much money I've spent over the years trying to track down the "perfect" boot when all of these pros are able to basically do whatever they want and slap a colorway over it.
