The memorial is now open to the public. It's free but you need to have a ticket to see it.
I saw on the news that they already gave away 40,000 tickets for the memorial. The only thing is that you might have to wait a while to get a ticket.

Might be a dumb question but are the waterfalls with the names engraved the same exact place of where the WTCs once stood?

If so, that's pretty deep.

this one is touching for me...
Robert Peraza, who lost his son Robert David Peraza in the attacks at the World Trade Center, pauses at his son's name at the North Pool of the 9/11 Memorial before the 10th anniversary ceremony at the site, Sunday Sept. 11, 2011, in New York. (AP Photo/Justin Lane, Pool)

It may be a little insensitve, but how come the passangers n the flight, didn't just ambush the terroists? Serioursly, it's 200+ people on a flight vs. 2 guys w/ flimsy box cutters.

shanksville, pennsylvania

That's how the plane crashed there. By then, the passengers found out about the attacks on the pentagon and WTC....so they either had to let the highjackers fly into to the capitol or bring them down, even if it meant taking their own lives

the people that were on the planes going into the WTC...they had no idea what was going to happen.

Until that point, most hijackers would simply take over the plane and have the pilot fly to a predetermined location and hold the passengers hostage.  Outside of the flight over Lockerbie, Scotland few hijacked flights were even blown up in mid air.  September 11th changes flying forever with the terrorists willingness to use the planes as live missiles.  Once people realized that they were going to die anyways, that's when they started fighting back (Flight 93).  The other 3 had no communication of what had happened to the previous flights since cell phone service in planes wasn't available then.

Easier to SAY people should react when not in the situation, plus those passengers may have been under the impression that the terrorists had other weapons (bombs, etc)
