Vince has never liked JR (well, at least for the past 10 years or so). He thinks he's too old and unattractive to be on TV. Vince thinks everyone needs to be young, in-shape, and look good on camera, including the announcers. That's why we so often see WWE trying to humiliate JR on air. Everything Cole says is him just reciting lines from Vince. It's also why JR has been removed from the announce team so many times.
