so my vacuum cleaner broke and i am in need of a replacement. whats a really good vacuum cleaner thats very versatile and will last long? i need one that canclean steps and carpets. any suggestions?

i was lookin into the dyson (the one with the ball) but thoe are kinda pricy, or i was thinking of a hoover. which to choose?
