? about old movies on blu-ray

I know for a fact that the newer movies that are released on blu-ray are

, but what about the older movies ? Just saw Ghostbusters on blu-ray for 10.00 on amazon if anyone is interested. Just wondering if the quality is the same orno different from a "digitally remastered dvd" version. Anyone?

It depends how they made it - if they went back to the original film print (analogue version) and used that and then cleaned it up then it would look amazing.

If it was just a company trying to do it on the cheap then it could just be the DVD version upscaled.

^^^what he said. But they usually use a loss-less audio format on Blu-ray, which doesn't fit on DVD (dvd uses compressed audio). So even if the picture isjust upscaled from DVD, you should still get better audio from the Blu-ray. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, not claiming any expertise on the subjecthere.
