To be honest, all I see is Wolf Grey Yeezy 2 in that cw. Wouldn't be surprised to see them do it with the black and grey inverted as well. I feel like maybe its just an effort to throw them into the lifestyle realm because a $180 performance runner might be too niche at this point.

Anybody log any real miles in the Ultra's to determine if this is a casual shoe or performance kick? 8o

I think it is safe to say the UltraBoosts are a performance running shoe.

It's a performance running shoe but many will wear it for casual also.

I think you guys are missing what I am saying. What I want to know is how the shoe performs as a running shoe. We all know the large majority of people who buy these will be for fashion...from the marketing its clear this was meant as a performance shoe by adidas...I want to know from the people who have taken these out for a run how they actually perform their intended purpose. Are they a true performer or are the better off as casual kicks.

I only put in 2-4 miles at a time but I have out almost thirty on these so far. Not much hut only had them 8 days so a lot for me. I mostly do sprint and short work - fast quarters followed by cool down jog then another sprint quarter. So far they are great. Longest i got in continuous was a 4.5 mile steady run. To me, I felt myself midfoot and forefoot striking more - normally a heavy heel strike on distance. If you need a feel of support stay away - there is nothing past the cage. Overall - cushioning is soft at first impact and the deeper you push it pushes back.

Thanks for the info...

I don't think we missed what you are saying, you just wrote it the wrong way.

Also, these are conflicting questions, they aren't the same.

Wanting to know whether it "performs well" or if it's a "casual shoe or not" are different questions. It's a performance shoe whether it is worn casually or not, it's a performance shoe whether it lives up to the promise or not.

I don't mean to drag this or call you out, no disrespect intended but all you really needed to ask was "does this shoes perform well?" Your initial question was worded differently hence the confusion.

^^^^^^ point taken, no need to drag the thread into a back and forth on semantics. Let's talk kicks

Performance. Completely. But they look nice casual. Something adidas has been searching for for years.

Awesome! I'm glad adi found the balance between aesthetics and performance with the Ultra Boost! I want a pair, but it's going to be a LONG wait for them to hit clearance... :/

LOL...I agree. They sold pretty fast during this week's pre-sale though. My size was gone with the quickness...I may have to bite the bullet and pay retail :x #CrossesFingersForAWideGeneralRelease

^^^ Feb. 11.

I know Duke...and my 10k is the end of March. So paying retail will be the only way I'll be able to get these and break them in before the race. Already started putting my pennies away to pay retail. Hope they live up to my expectations if I score a pair.

Hopefully they release a black/wht pair(with a black heel cup) soon so I can train in these on my deployment. I think we should be able to get these for about 15% off soon enough.

So compared to the "regular" energy boost, you don't have to go up .5 size? (Full size in my case, 14 to 15).

I like a bit of room in my shoes, but runners especially I need at least 3/8-1/2" of space between the end of my toe while standing up.
