What is the best way, if any to protect yourself against scammers when selling the shoes? I'm considering selling my OT on ebay. Hearing stories of people getting scammed is putting me off big time.

i think just documenting everything, as in pictures of everything, pictures of when the deal was started and completed. Save the conversations between buyer and seller. Keep track of everything in regards to the sale. I've sold high priced items on ebay before and haven't ran into any big problems(knock on wood). I've had some paypal chargebacks but all were resolved with me simply updating tracking number.  But also keep a clear and concise dialogue with your buyer, and also let him know everything is going to be documented just in case something happens down the road.  Now ebay is seperate from paypal, and i've heard ebay almost always favors the buyer, so if you can't sell the sneaker straight up locally for cash than i'd try to have a really detailed paypal invoice. Worse thing is you getting fake shoes sent back, having to refund the seller completely and ebay telling you they can't do anything.

Tell the seller you'll give the combination once they verify the pair is legit.

You laugh, but there really isn't any other way to stop them from sending you fakes back. Unless they figure out the combination via luck or brute force.

I guess you could put a super discreet marking on each pair but then you'd have to hope that it's not discovered.
you should document the entire process including the combination for the lock. Also mention it in the eBay posting so there isn't any shock when the bidder wins.

Its a good idea, just madness that it has come to this.

imagine a world were you didn't have to worry about the dumb ****. like hey let's make a deal and everything always worked out. no fakes. no scammers. no money being scammed. nothing. that's the world I wanna live in.

Cork Lebrons are delicate.

Either will sellers, too easy for buyer to open a dispute with their cc company

The world we live in NOW, given 5+ years ago there wasn't as much scams that there is today.

The only way I ever copped manual is thru the confirmed app. Online is nothing but disappointment for me. i feel like the confirmed app is the only real legit chance I will ever cop a pair for retail. Too many raffles are rigged and online is nearly impossible due to bots and bd.
