These Metallic 5s, Both Deions, Neon AM95, the CB94s, Grape 5s..Jesus Christ ..this has to be the best year in the past 10 for retros and that’s trust the first 5 months

Webtec. I wanna say around ‘04 some of the lows were the last time before they switched it to leather. The ‘09 auburn retro they switched it to the plastic.

Ya I always took it as a typical Nike "lockdown" gimmick from the era. But the recent retros have been so far off its glaring. The last Webtec version I personally recall was from around 99/2000. But others are saying maybe as late as 2009, so I guess Nike stuck with it for a couple early rounds of retros.

This is def a model that's deserving of the remaster treatment.

When was the last time Nike used the real side support straps? Cant remember the technical name for those

With that toe, definitely the old retro. Shame these new ones won't come close to the pair from the mid 2010s that were a little vintage but the materials were AMAZING! I should have kept that pair.

With that toe, definitely the old retro. Shame these new ones won't come close to the pair from the mid 2010s that were a little vintage but the materials were AMAZING! I should have kept that pair.

To this day I regret not copping like 2-3 pairs of those. I already had 2 pairs of the previous retro which was kinda trash but I couldn’t justify it to the now-Wed-wife at the time but that was the last decent retro

Thanks! I actually had many more posts years ago- something happened with my account like 15 years ago and then it was recovered or something and all my profile history seemed to have been lost. Not really sure what happened. I participated in sneaker painting contests early 00's and all sorts. Ppl hitting me up to paint their shoes and paying by money order lol. Fun old days. I wish I could recover those posts but I am not sure how. I will try and frequent here more. Glad to see the forum is still alive and well, compared to other car forums etc that have died out over the years.

Yeah there was a Yuku-switchover or something many years ago that messed everything up. People lost posts, history, etc. My join date got messed up. I joined sometime in 2001 and now it says 2003. Little things like that. Did you have a custom/customizer/painter name you went by back then?
