I don't think it was memory foam. It was heavily padded with a nice plush suede or felt like material. Not every Jordan is comfortable for no show socks, but the OG XIV's were made for it.

I always thought the tongue sort of defeated the purpose of it the sock liner. I felt the tongue should have been longer, because where the tag started it wasn't as comfortable and wasn't as padded. It could annoy the top of your foot.

Okay, so you're one of the few who actually prefer the Idea of a Longer Tongue?...

It's been so long since I had my OG's, so I can't speak on the comfort of the Tongue as much, however I do remember the Silver Plastic corners being slightly annoying.

I'm not opposed to the Taller Tongue... if it's a Comfort improvement, then it's welcomed.

Ferraris tongue is exact same as my Og xiv white n red (both pairs)

No longer.

Not sure on black toes

And on the og...the tongue used to fall to the side if not laced tight. Maybe a longer tongue to fix it?

But im still not buying into this whole "the tongue is noticeably longer"


And it was supposedly memory foam in the og.

Scroll up to previous post and you'll see a difference in tongue length from OG '98s to the ones coming out Saturday. 
 
I still say its the same. 1/4 inch aint enuf to trip like its a different tongue.

My rarris are the exact same as og white n red n indiglos.

I think its the angles and the fact one has a foot in it, combined with pulling up the tongue.

Tie the shoe and the tongue will look shorter

Leave the shoe unlaced and pull it, amd the tongue will look longer.

Some of the pics in here scream that it is. I'm HOPING that it's due to them being "early release" fakes.... but it certainly does look like it creases at a certain spot and shoots straight up with a longer than usual end piece.

Why you acting like it would be a SIN if the Tongue was longer...? Lol

As most ppl said, it's not that big of a deal... it's just worth mentioning bc this is a Thread for people obsessed about the intricacies of a particular Sneaker.

I'd be much more worried about the decrease in Quality and/or Craftsmanship issues.

Dont think its a sin. Just see people wilin out about it here when its not what theyre making it out to be.

- Wider stitching area on the Upper that holds Lacing System

- No Pearl finish along Midsole

- Nubuck Toe instead of OG Suede Toe

- Brighter Red at Top of the Heel compared to the Deep Ox Red on the OG (Texture possibly different)

- Inner Collar is now mesh textured

With all that said, it's a game-time decision, but I'm leading towards the Copp... Nostalgia is winning me over.

As an owner of the 1998 OG White/Black (Black Toes) and the 1999 White/Reds (you will never hear me call them 'Candy Canes'), I have to agree with @EightFiveFresh's observations here.

Also, air vents on mine were not covered by the insole, but never helped that much with ventilation when I balled in these IMO.  Hated how the teeth on the toe box separated after numerous wears too.  I see that being a recurring problem with the 2014 Black Toes.
 
This probably been answered a 100 times but how the 14s fit this year? Havnt owned a paor since ogs
