lmao @ you for going John Madden on a sneaker comparison. I may be in the minority but theyre good enough for me. As long as the leather doesnt crease right out the box or the paint doesnt chip right away, Im good. as for the black air unit, it is a minute detail and no one will notice. At least the paint isnt shiny and the air bubble isn't red like on the Dub Zeros.
the older I get, the more I realize the days of perfect retros are all but dead. either we as consumers take what we can get or move on. Personally, after next year most of the Jordans Ive ever wanted will have been retroed so i'm looking ahead to Kobes, Lebrons, and Air Maxes.

Here's the deal, we're not and never getting anything remotely close to OG quality, let alone the quality circa 1999.... Move on, or get over it.
If you want some '99's, buy them, if you want these new retros, buy them or don't. You can break down the flaws all you want, that's not gonna transform the shoe anyhow.

I have never owned this colorway of the 4, just the Black Cats, so I gotta get these.

Perhaps that is one of your main concerns, because each time I see someone make a beef with a detail that they would have liked to see stay closer to the OG, you pop off with some "You think when you are wearing them on the street someone is going to see your shoes and _________________?"

That black air unit is unappealing. Granted it is a minor detail and can easily be overlooked and will most likely not deter many from copping. I know it will not deter me one bit, as these are Grails to me.
I'm not sure if you misunderstand the connection some have to these shoes or if you generally see collecting as a fashion statement or business, but your comments are glaringly myopic.
Personally, I want to see the kicks resemble the OG's as closely as possible. I don't care what anyone thinks about what I wear, as I have come to the conclusion as I've grown to be a man, that people could care less what I'm wearing or what I'm doing, and frankly, I prefer to keep it that way.

I've been buying Air Jordan's since 1992. The retro versions will never be the same as their originals. Ever. For one integrity reason or another.
