Air Jordan Retro 2 "Red Piping" Painted or Customized to look like OG

Has anyone PAINTED OR CUSTOMIZED their RETRO 2 to look like the OG Version? Thoughts and Pics will be appreciated. Thanks ALL!

I would think cutting piping off with an exacto knife would work. I don't know if the piping that sticks out is stitched or not.
