These were actually called "bat boots" by Tinker because he designed a boot version of jet black vi's for Michael Keaton to wear in the Batmanmovie.

I was winning the orange/grey ones on ebay last week, not the new ones, but the last retro (2002), auction was about to end at about $35, brand new in box.somebody bid sniped me. i hate bid snipers! it was probably somebody here on nt. whoever you are, enjoy your boots, punk. haha. i was gonna wear those hikingin the rockies this summer.
