It would be great if they could keep these under wraps up until the week before release and have a big event to unveil them. I'd expect the event to be in July tho.

Any guesses on what they're mixing the weave with?
It's barely any information but during an interview this weekend at the Quai 54 tourney Tinker let slip that Mark Smith had to go to Asia to the factory because they were having a difficult time with creating a woven upper with the fly weave material and some other material. I'm guessing this is for the XX. Here's the excerpt from the interview I'm talking about.
Speaking on pushing the bounds of innovation in sneakers and the manufacturing process.
Mark Smith: That’s what’s fun about it. In the end, they appreciate it too.
Tinker Hatfield : In the end they do. They might not appreciate it at first.
MS: No, not at first. I just came back from the factory and they’re not appreciating it yet! But they understand why.
TH: He was just at the factory in Asia to talk to them about spinning the weave stuff to combine it with…
MS: Woah!
TH: I nearly slipped up there! But it was not going well, so he went to Italy.

Real talk, aesthetics have taken the back burner on all ball shoes, there isn't one model that legit looks good imo in casual wear pics, tinker is doin a great job at still making arguably the most comfortable basketball shoes on the market season after seasonJB needs to employ young designer/s
If not because of the retro, they would have been dead long time ago imo
No disrespect to Tinker but his time is up..
Let him watch and mentor the youngins
The new Jordan signature model will always, and has always been a basket ball shoe first. Design comes second. Even MJ is quoted, especially in the link above, as saying he wants the new signature to be about basketball first. The reason why people have such an affinity towards the first signature shoes is the design not technology. Now that technology advances faster and faster and is more accessible faster and faster, the need for actual design is less and less. Look at the XX9. There really isn't much design to it since its so tech heavy. What design there is is all done on a computer and processed through a machine to give you the couple different models. If JB says they want a huge jumpman on the side of the shoe. Boom. Done. Easy. If JB say they want elephant print on the side and toe. Done. Easy. Now look at the first signature shoes I - 10. What was the major new technology/innovation? There really wasn't one. All those shoes used nike air and different types of leather. That's it. Because of the lack of real innovation or an option to have it, the designers, mainly Tinker, had to actually use his imagination and creativity with the limited leather options( nubuck, durabuck, full grain leather ) and limited technology to DESIGN a shoe. Why was the Jordan III innovative? At the time it was the first basketball shoe to show the nike air cushioning. Not much to talk about. The design and use of the leather is what is really special: beautiful floater leather and the elephant print. I think if someone played in any model I through X, all models would play the same. The XI is where technology really started to inform design at its best. It was the first signature shoe to use a carbon fiber shank plate and use patent leather along with the ballistic nylon. By today's standards, not really innovative, but at the time CRAZY! And the XI still stands the test of time. That's how you know the shoe had such a great design! Now technology, in my opinion, has completely overwhelmed the design. Now its so easy to make or design a shoe. Tinker now uses an ipad to draw the next sig. The XX9 upper is completely made by a machine along with any "design" is put on/into the fabric. Where is the imagination and creativity? I think JB, Tinker, and Mark Smith need to reevaluate their whole design process. Were at a point where the they're putting so much effort into the technology, that the design comes secondary, uninspired and with that, unappealing to the consumer. This why everyone still goes so hard on retros! As fans of shoes, design and art, I think we all should step back and spend some time thinking about how technology and design inform one another and how their synthesis affects a product. Its something the JB designers certainly haven't done in a while.I wish they would actually make a nice model. Like how they used to when they dropped 1-17.
I feel like they just make the new shoes just for basket ball. The retros you can actually rock with clothes
you sound slow
all jordans were made with performance at the forefront
Dog
Dudes would line up to buy it too
JB need to knock it off already and focus on remastering the III\s before a XXX release.

XX9 is a GOAT ball shoe and it held it's own as far as looks go on court. Non stop compliments when I pull them out.
