ESPN/Disney wouldn't let them sell merch either, I bet it gets put into this next contract tho

The debut episode of ESPN's morning show "Get Up!" averaged 283,000 viewers yesterday. That's down -12% from ESPN's 7-10am time period average on Mondays last April.

The countdown officially starts now for this show throwing in the towel and turning into a 3 hour Embrace Debate. We know it's coming, why deny it.

Saw a commercial for World Cup coverage and it's tag line was "Root for your Roots." Guess it's kinda what they had to do to get viewership here in the states...

SMH @ the USMNT.

So Whitlock told LeBron he wasn't a victim after the n-word was spray painted on his home. Told Russ to just shake off something an idiot fan said yet he along with Broussard, Jim Jackson and Eric Allen spent about 3 hours last year on FS1 defending Kristine Leahy after Lavar told her to "stay in her lane". Which one is it Whitlock?

Speaking on Leahy, why in the world did they give her a show nobody is going to watch is beyond me.

I dunno how the other hosts haven’t punched whitlock. Whether he means the stuff he says or not, he wants you to think he’s scum. I would’ve defended leahy too, that basketball kardashian dad is an absolute idiot. leahy’s getting her own show because she’s one of the few personalities left. This the same network that tried every way for katie nolan’s show to fail so espn gladly scooped her up.

She must bring in a ton of revenue with 5am sportscenter snapchat videos and her podcast. espn has no idea what they’re doing.

what were her credentials tho? bc she had 400k followers on social media? There are ig models with quadruple that amount of following and not getting 7 figure salaries

she came with some credentials and was able to negotiate into her deal when she signed on. anybody would have done that (ask for the bag). espn just fools thinking she was going to move the needle

espn was late with trying to get content on other platforms. they still thought that folks prefer to follow sports in front of the tv and pretty much handed a blank check to nolan cause she was getting some buzz at fox doing her content on the web. think she won an emmy and that pretty much bumped her value going into negotiations with espn

**** aint fair, but she knew how to catapult her buzz into a larger payday. doesn't bother me what espn wants to do with their money. it's a complete mess over there, they've cut a lot of talented people and inked some terrible deals. there's a lot of dead weight on that network and folks aint complaining about their salary

dman14 dman14 how much do you think these other younger white girl sports personalities are making like Kristine Leahy, Laura Rutledge, Kristen Kenney etc.

leahy is starting to get more exposure with all different projects (ninja warrior, radio/tv) but i would guess still nowhere even close to a million annually in salary, that's for sure. unless you are covering the big events or have , it's a grind since a lot of the top positions are already filled with the likes of erin andrews, tafoya, kolber, etc

i remember years back reading an espn mag talking about the different salaries in various positions in the sports world and just remember a lot of the positions in tv and radio were not that high unless you are at the top

Her situation is rare for sure. Not having a big tv presence on the two big sports networks but somehow getting paid that much is crazy. I used to hate on her myself but ended up watching a few episodes of garbage time and she’s really charming. The show was fun and big stars seemed to enjoy being on. fs1 was real dumb to only have it on once a week and at changing timeslots.

Katie Nolan slander will not be tolerated. You get what you have the leverage to negotiate. Jalen Rose.
