ESPN to give Sage Steele morning role, perhaps with Mike Greenberg
By Michael McCarthy, The Sporting News
ESPN is poised to announce Sage Steele is returning to Bristol in a morning anchor role, sources tell Sporting News.
Steele could join Mike Greenberg on his new solo morning show that will air on ESPN, said sources.
The new "Greeny & Friends"-type show will be shot in New York. If ESPN is willing to break up the 17-year partnership between Greenberg and Golic, you better believe the Worldwide Leader in Sports going to throw massive marketing support behind Greenberg's new program.
Previously, ESPN tried to recruit Fox Sports 1 rising star Katie Nolan to work with Greenberg, with ESPN president John Skipper himself personally wooing Nolan.
Steele also could slide into a morning "SportsCenter" anchor slot on whatever programming replaces the current "Mike & Mike in the Morning" on ESPN2. "Mike & Mike" will likely morph into a radio-only show with Trey Wingo teaming up with Golic in place of Greenberg.
I'd love me some Sarah Spain.Spain must be real fun in bed. She was just on ath and talked about the term screaming eagle on urban dictionary.

Why shouldn't they lead and speak on this for more than 5 minutes? Not understanding your gripe here. A former Pro Bowler killed himself under the age of 30. It is clearly newsOf course sportscenter is talking more than they need to about aaron hernandez. 5 minutes is all that was needed. Now they're analyzing and talking about how good he was on the patriots.

Phil Simms to join CBS's The NFL Today studio show as analyst this fall
SI.com
Phil Simms will join the cast of The NFL Today studio show this fall, appearing on that weekly Sunday show along with host James Brown and analysts Bill Cowher, Boomer Esiason and Bart Scott. He takes over the seat previously occupied by Tony Gonzalez, who left the show earlier this year because he no longer wants to travel to New York from the west coast. Simms will also continue on the Showtime NFL studio show, Inside The NFL.
Various reports have pegged the number that will be laid off at around 100, with the understanding that this will include a number of well-known TV, radio, and online employees.
The Hollywood Reporter also reports that Karl Ravech, Ryen Russillo, and Hannah Storm will see their roles at the network “significantly reduced.”
