I think the OP just wants to read the newer posts and see how the thread got to the point where he started reading off to (I do this as well). I just skim through the long-winded quotes.

If its a long thread I sometimes just skip to the third to last page and see if lulz are ensuing. Then I start from page 1. Nothing worse than starting from page 1 of a long thread and it isnt even entertaining.
