Any BEST BUY employees on niketalk? vol. i need help

So i might be scheduling an interview soon, what kind of questions should i expect and what should i answer to each??

Any help would be appreciated.

just answer what you know they would like to hear. usually just the basic questions like tell me bout your self?, past jobs ect..there big on employeesstealing and when i got my interview, the GM made me look him in the eye and told him that i would never steal from BB. you have to go through 3 interviews.The first one was the questions you took online, and then your going to interview with either a supervisor or a manager and then you will have an interviewwith the GM, which most the time means you got the job. which dept you looking to get into?

Make sure you say you like technology, they like that. Anybody can work at bestbuy, but you'll climb faster if you already have some experience in bothcustomer service and electronics...and can socialize of course.

The psychological aspect of retail is kinda weird, just make good with your assistant managers and supervisor, and apply for any promotions no matter what.

You are right though, like it's a win/lose situation most of the time....you either make a killing and hit 260% budget or hit 45% when it's rainingand have managers on your @** talking about district/corp folks threatening them with getting fired because of services

I do like it though...helpin people out, talking about technology, a 4-5 sales are an entire shift for me so it goes by fast, white women

-Business Professional

-Costumer Service Specialist

-Loss Prevention

-Merchandising

-Music, Software + Gaming

-Non-Commission Sales


How is they pay on these, how is the commission? What are some pros n cons? What are employee discounts like?

i use to work in merch for 2 years but my store is getting ride of that department now so i got moved to inventory...which is still a chill department.pay is gona suck in any dept. unless ur 1. a supervisor, 2. a senior, 3. full-time...best buy doesnt do commision. and the discounts are ok but they use to bebetter. they took away ur parents getting the discount but other than that you will see how much they get you on accessiories if you were just a customer. andyou use to get installs for like half off now you only get like 20% off...

If you answer that you would tell your proving your not loyal and they wont want that either.

cause i've been doin that for awhile and i never get anything. and when i call the store to ask about employment they just tell me to apply online and waitfor a call.

haha i felt just like you till one day i found out there was a new bb opening up in my area and i applied for that and about 26 hrs later i got the call
i apllied on wed around 2 or so if that helps

ive been there for almost 3 years now and just recently got my second promotion...just depends on if someone is leaving the dept and if your qualifiedto take that spot...i was a part timer and with in a year i got full time and then 2 years later i got a senior postion...

Best Buy FTL!!!!

I just got an f-ing call yesterday and i missed it cuz the phone was on vibrate and the guy was like we would like toschedule an interview with you so call back
Well i called back an hour after that msg and no luck so i left a voice mail

I call back three times today and on the thrid time i spoke w/ this*&%&^$%^#%^*&(*(^*%^$%& lady who said o we just want to know your availability even though they ask that question in the online app and then itell her well im a full time student but i get out of school on may 16 so until then i can work evenings + weekends but after that i can work whenever you needme to work.
And the ^*&^%&$%#(^)* is like we only want people that can work mornings, and i was like well by the time i gethired and trained i will be able to work mornings and she was like we will start training next week in the morning so if you dont get trained you dont gethired. W t f is up w/ that, you called me asking for my availability even though you already know a lot about me and then blow me off!!!
