Any Golfers on NT?

Went out yesterday to start my several weak rounds out of the way. Started the front 9 with a 47, came in with a 41 :hat

Usually it takes me a good while to get rolling but my chipping/pitching/sand game was above average and off the tee I put myself in great position to score just couldn't get my irons going.

I don't know what golf gps app yall use but i just downloaded the FREE GolfLogix app and it is outstanding. I am a stat geek so it is right up my alley. The GPS location service is a battery drainer but it made my round much more enjoyable.

Check it out.

I can't use those silly apps and whatnot. I am very pure about my game. Whenever I am playing, everyone's phones are off and at the club house. It's a pointless distraction. It feels so much better playing well by yourself, than playing well because Siri is telling you where the green is.

I ONLY use GPS because some of the courses I play have horrible layouts for yardage markers and are inaccurate as hell. :{

It's a matter of choice Sir Charles...there are good golfers that use them...technology will become more and more involved in the sport. I mean like somewhere there's a PURE-purist shaking his head at titanium drivers...talking about how he remembers when Woods were actually made of wood :lol

I actually practice with my great grandfather's clubs. 1956 Wilson Autographs. Woods are made of wood, and their shafts are iron. The irons feel like they are 10 pound each, and the farthest the driver can his is about 60 yards. It's really fun, but has no effect on today's courses.Really good for weight training though

Got a BIG week of golf coming up :hat

Tomorrow I have a big match with some buddies and the pro from the course I work at. Wednesday is a practice round for a tournament I'm in Friday. Thursday is my golf league. And Friday is just a big fun drinking tournament that I look forward to every year.

Haven't played this much golf in one week in a LONG time. My putting stroke is slowly coming back after switching to a blade putter this year after having a 2 ball for the last 4 years. My game is pretty close to being back where it was last year, and now that school is over I can practice a little more.

I'll try to get a couple pictures of my bag up soon.. its nothing special, mostly Nike actually after my purchases this year.

Play well guys!

Wife is going to Long Island to visit family this weekend.

That = me playing a minimum of 54 holes from Saturday-Monday.

Memorial Day weekend.

Not sure who mentioned it but I'm from DC and played golf in HS in Alexandria. I've played nearly every course in the area in junior tournaments but that was over a decade ago. My hs home course was a ****** short 9 hole course Prinecrest if any of you have played it. Just getting back into the game. Now but mostly in spirit. I play basketball frequently and I keep ******g up my fingers which means no golf. To the person that mentioned pinky pain from their interlocking grip that's way to tight. I had an old Greg Norman book and I followed his instructions for an overlap grip. I also followed his advice of keeping a club next to my bed and grabbing the club over and over and making sure my grip was perfect till I could do it with my eyes closed. It's still the same perfect grip instinct 15 years later with 7+ months since my last round. Too tight of grip will cause blisters and tension in your swing. Keep practicing and whatever grip you choose will feel natural over time, tight enough that the club isn't loose but no white knuckles. If you happened to play baseball it's the same pressure you'd use batting.

hey guys, I'm just getting into golf seriously and was wondering what shoes you guys prefer? The lunar control or TW '13/'14. The TW '14 is available for purchase in June and was wondering which of these 3 you guys prefer? Also I was thinking about getting a separate shoe for the range like the Nike Dunk NG or Lunar Swingtip

Thanks

Not sure about those shoes you listed... I can tell you that my current golf shoes are by far the best I've ever played in.

Adidas Adipure Z... They're a couple year   s old in terms of when they released but I got them for $70 shipped this winter and they're the ****.

I walk alot of courses in the Bay Area, and was looking for something really cushioned.

700

Nike Lunar Ascend, I got these on sale for $50 and they are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned period.

Checkout the Nike Golf thread I started in the Nike forum. Lots of good info about the shoes and gear to help you.

Those Adidas look great. I can't get into the gold shoes that look like sneakers

Currently wear the Lunar Controls all black

My weekend starts now....looking to get in over 6 rounds before Monday.

I've been playing a lot at 5 or 4 now, can't deal with slow people in the morning and the courses usually clear out a bit around there. I play fast so we whip through at night. Not much of a morning fan.

Lots of retired and old people that love to take their time :lol

The after work crowd is much quicker

First round breaking 80 for the season today :smokin Out in 39, should have been a 38 but I missed a pretty easy birdie putt from about 12 ft. Came in with a 40 and absolutely duffed a pitch shot on 18 which led to a bogey. Over all felt good. Missed only 2 fairways today.
