I've been thinking about learning how to play the guitar. I've been wanting to do this for a while now, and I've messed around a bit with mysister's crappy old guitar. I'm looking to get serious with it now. I might take some music courses here at school.

Anyways, on to the important questions:
What's a good beginner guitar to get (preferably in the $150-250 range)?
Where should I start after I get a guitar?
Also please share some of your experiences as a beginning guitar player.

*edit: yeah forgot to mention I'm trying to learn to play an acoustic

I use to play electric guitar (mostly metal), played for around 2-3 years.
Still have my Ibanez RG, I need to start playing again...

Anyway, I assume your talking about an acoustic or classical guitar, so learn your chords.
I learned off of ultimateguitar.com, straight tabs.

get a cheap one, like a classical guitar.

The strings are softer, and there is more space between the strings.

If you really enjoy it, get a better one.

Its better you spend a little and see if you really like it.

have fun learning!

Ive been playing for six years. for a begginer guitar? id say a fender or a takamine acoustic if you can get it in that price range. maybe a sunlite if youcant get the others. it would really help if instead of tabs you go for proper music theory. trust me. it helps in the long run. good luck
