Anyone Collect Sports Cards?

jrp44 you won't get a right answer on what a "true" is. Folks in the card community has been arguing about this for like a decade . Is it bowmans 1st, flagship "RC" on the card, cards coming out his rookie year, etc....Gleyber's first topps card was in 2018 series 2 but a short print. Folks don't considered that his rookie. Topps release chrome after that, which has his card in it and not a short print. Folks considered that his true rookie. it's going to boil down on what you believe is their first true rookie card.

BtownKj I feel you man. Honestly if you are ever gonna sell, a wedding is as legit of a reason as there is! Prices are obviously crazy right now but they will be even crazier in the future so hopefully you can still get in and cop something thats within the budget. You can also look at raw cards, might be able to snag a deal that way.

I think thats the route I'm gonna go for now. Hopefully find something. Any recommendations on which would be worth grabing? Should I look to Topps over UD in this instance. For me replacing the Topps chrome would be what I'd want but even raw that way to much for me.

BtownKj good question. Some of its gonna come down to what you like but, as far as what the hobby covets, there are people in here that know more than me for that particular era. I was outta the game then and haven't went back and looked deep enough into it

Getting back 4 luka base rc prizms 2 zions base and 1 zion Silver by next week from psa! The silver zion I’m expecting a 9, but still wanted it slabbed. Just hope I could get 10’s on half of the luka zion base.

Seems like PSA is starting to be a lot more selective on handing out 10’s recently from what I’ve been hearing.

ya I’ve also heard that depending on what card it is and the value, they’ll grade is more stricter. Crazy to think how much money is left on the table between just these 7 cards. Take the zion silver for example... it goes from being a 1k Card with a 9, to a 4K Card in a 10. Graders have too much power for such a subjective process

For the items that aren't serialized (like 8/25) how is anyone sure they're getting their exact card back? Graders could def be swappin the Zion 10's for their own Zion 9's and you'd never know.

For a card like that I’d resubmit if you’re a person who sends a lot of stuff in to PSA. I mean why not?

I’d throw it in until I got a 10 lol

10’s are hard to come by. Love watching breaks and all the comps are for a psa 10 like all cards are 10s. Looking at all the cards I’ve opened most aren’t 10s and I go through them pretty well before sending off. Hell, a PSA 9 (which is tough) goes for less then a raw card. Makes no sense.

Looking to sell and upgrade to Lebron. 2-3k what’s your play? I’d love a Chrome/EX but now looking towards a UD301, Topps Pristine, Bowman, Fleer Tradition, Topps.

sole searchin it was fairly easy but I wouldn’t do it with a card that’s valuable. I didn’t give a f when I did it, just wanted to crack that ugly case.

I guess everybody was just like me and didn’t even realize it wasn’t a PSA graded card if you look closely it’s a GEM graded card smh. Idk what a gem or heard of a gem grading. I got swindled. Fake *** Look alike PSA slab. Dude listed as Ja morant Gem mint Graded card knowingly how he worded it. So I got it and figured I cracked it for fun. Luckily the card was cheap. Card lost value being in that case lol

Honestly anytime I see a card and the PSA 9 is less or equal to a raw card, I buy the 9.

Ex.) Lamar Jackson’s PSA 9’s are the same price as a raw one. I even think I saw an ungraded one sell for 400 yesterday. I bought another 9 at 300 and I might grab a 3rd if I can find one under 400. I buy the card not the grade.
