Anyone have a 4k Ultra HD television? Help

It will eventually become cheaper to broadcast in 4K live.
Eventually, probably. But we don’t even have 1080i/p offered for every game.

It’s up to NBC, ABC, Fox, etc. to shoulder the costs to broadcast more 4k games. There just isn’t any financial incentive for them to do every game yet. And those costs would be passed on to us consumers by the distributors like YTTV, Fios, etc. through increased broadcast fees if enough people don’t pay for the premium 4k plans. Not to mention the regional network contracts and blackout rules.

A lot more goes into making 4k the norm than just flipping a magic switch to make it happen.

My kid accidentally broke my Sony 85 inch so I replaced it with this one.

Sony - 85" Class X80K LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV

Crazy in 2019 I paid 2100 for the 85 they broke and bought a new one for 1299.

Very happy with the purchase.

Same boat I’m in. Idk exactly if my kids broke it or the tv was on its way out and them hitting it was nail in the coffin - both kids in recent months and directly hit the screen with something hard.

I bought an M series 65” Vizio back in 2014 from BestBuy. It’s been great no complaints. But now it won’t power on at all

I’m looking at a 75” Sony X93L (miniLED). Trying to hold out to see if price drops or until Memorial Day to see there’s a sale. Esp since Sony is on pre-sale with the Bravia 9

Ok guys.

My 85 in LG crapped out on me. It won't turn on. Tried multiple plugs, tried the power button on the bottom everything...it's done.

Was looking at some Samsungs but noticed they don't support Dobly Vison.

Not opposed to another LG.

I got about 2k to spend and was looking at this

Any suggestions? Thanks!
How long have you had it? If you bought it from Costco they can probably help you out

I'd still go LG OLED over anything tbh

I have the 65" version and it looks great.

i have the 65" version too and very happy with it

when i was looking, i shopped it with the TCL QM8 and Hisense U8, both are very good and close (if not better in other features) to the sony for a few hundreds less

id compare the three before making a final decision

Nothing against TCL or Hisense, but you can never go wrong with a Sony.

I had a TCL crapped out on me 2 yrs ago. Good thing I had a warranty but the replacement tv is a TCL too.

Have a 4K TCL set that’s going on 3 and a half years now no issues.

Just wish it had HDMI 2.1.

a lot of comparisons out there and i mean i did decide on the sony over the other two but its really up to you what you want, the other two seems brighter and has better blacks as they are mini-led’s while the sony is still just full array lcd

but hey looking at bestbuy, sony is only $100 more so its not a neck breaking discount to go with TCL/Hisense so in the end, id probably still pick sony

im just throwing options out there, if you;re not going oled, competition are very close

I'm a sony guy every tv in my house besides the LG is Sony.

Think I'm gonna go with it.

Even better news, the NEX on base has the Sony TV I want and it's cheaper than best buy.

No tax and there protection plan is much better than best. 3 calls on the same tv and they give you what you paid for the TV back.

5 year plan is 225 while best buys 5 year plan for the same TV is 449.

I would say go with a 83 inch OLED, but they are pricey... I'm still waiting for the prices to drop more before I make the upgrade.

I ended up going with a 75” Sony X90L - the small differences in specs and several trips looking at the 2 side by side didn’t justify the extra $800 for the X93L and the Bravia 7 was another $200 (at the time)
