Like the title says, anyone here bet on sports? My buddy and I just released a free iPhone app and want to get some feedback. It is called Odds Insider and gives detailed line changes from different sportsbooks. If you have the time please check it out and let me know what you think.

I use 5dimes and bovada (formerly bodog). Both pay promptly. Bodog has inflated lines so it's better to bet underdogs there. 5 dimes Is the best hands down though. So many options to bet its awesome.

Air berg have u posted ur app in sbr forums? If not I'll be more than happy to.

nah haven't yet man, would love it if you did though. might come better not from me, not being to spammy, haha.
thanks for downloading and upgrading man, appreciate it. we have an update coming soon with NBA data.

agree about 5dimes, plus i like when you can get discounted juice. i always keep a Bovada account open too in case i am on the other side of the inflated line, sometimes can get an easy free point.

great app, 100% going to use it and staying on my phone but is there a reason why basketball (college and nba) and college football is not supported? NFL season is almost towards the end and this would be huge for the nighly basketball games

I choose eagles to win... and they do so I win the money.

yeah there is a lot of work to add sports, gathering data, etc, but we have NBA coming very, very soon!

...the point of lines and odds is so that the sites make money

yes, for now, we have NBA coming very soon. because the main feature of our app is being able to watch/track line movements, that is a lot of data to gather and process, it takes a bit to add more sports. we are working hard on adding them though.

in simplest terms...

Money line:
for example...if lakers/bulls was at Bulls -120 and Lakers +150, then the Bulls are the favorite

If you bet on the Bulls, a $120 bet would win $100

If you bet on the Lakers, a $100 bet would win $150

Odds line:
Work the same as money line, but instead they give you the odds (4-1, 10-1, 3-2 etc.) and based on your original bet, payout the win accordingly


In Vegas I know that sports books have a $10 minimum usually. The win payout just scales proportionally from those lines (a $10 bet on a Lakers win would pay $15)

And of course theres the over/under total score and (have to have the winner correct of course) bets (which both pay your bet plus half in Vegas i think)
