What phone do y'all recommend? A 7+ or 8+? My 6s is out of warranty and the touch screen is acting up probably from water damage from about a month ago. I constantly have to put my phone to sleep and turn it on again in order for the touch screen to work.

Thought the 8+ was slightly thicker than the 7+?

I’m sure it’ll fit but I remember hearing during the event it was thicker

Read somewhere that it's 0.2mm thicker for the 8+. Not sure if that makes any difference for the 7+ cases.

Can anyone explain me, why they removed reaching the app switcher trough 3d touch in iOS11?
Makes no sense to me at all. I don't want to use the home button every time to close an app or double tap to reach the app switcher.
It's totally annoying.

Manufacturing problems mean final iPhone X production hasn’t started yet

Building the iPhone X hasn't been without its challenges.

The iPhone X may be Apple’s most exciting iPhone refresh in years, but it’s causing the company no end of production issues. According to a new report, the iPhone X has run into more late stage manufacturing problems, causing an additional “incremental” delay for shipping.


The result? Final production on the handset hasn’t even started yet.



Raymond James chip analyst Christopher Caso writes that:

“Interestingly, while the industry widely anticipated a shift in iPhone ramp timing, our checks suggest there was an incremental delay in the build plans – with orders firmed up as recently as last week – shifting production more into the December quarter. While our checks are ongoing, initial feedback from our meetings suggests that

final production of iPhone X has not yet begun, with production expected to commence in mid-October. That production start is about a month later when compared to expectations a month ago, and about 2 months later than expectations at the end of June.”



iPhone X production problems are nothing new. Right from the start, there has been talk of issues affecting the yield rate of the various components Apple is using for the handset. One major issue appears to have been with challenges faced by Samsung Display in manufacturing the OLED display for the new device.


As a result of this, it is likely that supply of the iPhone X will be severely constrained around launch time, and is unlikely to balance with demand until well into 2018. While that does mean that Apple will likely experience great than expected sales next year, it also means that fans may not be able to snap up their desired handset quite as soon as they might like.


The iPhone X pre-orders will begin on October 27, with shipping (at least right now) set for November 3.
