oh so when apple comes out with something its innovative.. but when its made by someone else its "who uses that? that tech is way too far ahead of out time"... yeah ok... nfc, just wait to see what tech tiles can do, google wallet, already sharing files and so on... just because apple doesnt have it yet or made it, its not a bad thing to start having new technology..who uses NFC?
exactly.

I'm saying though. I've had a Galaxy Nexus for about 3 months. I've used NFC twice, and that was only because I had to use it to spend the $10 credit I got from Google Play. Since then, using it has never crossed my mind again.
The truth is that while NFC is cool tech, to the average consumer it just isn't a dealbreaker/maker. Could it be in the future? Sure. But we're not there yet, so not including it in the iphone 5 is whatever, IMO.
All it is now is something that fanboys can brag about having, knowing damn well it isn't something crucial to everyday usage. The fact that I had to look up where I can use NFC says it all for me.
I use it all the time to share info with my friends and family who have relatively new Android devices. It's cool as hell to be able to share a game or cool app by tapping the phones together.who uses NFC?
exactly.

Where do you shop that takes NFC payments? Serious question. Very few businesses have the infrastructure necessary to securely accept NFC payments. An NFC chip is useless if nobody takes your payments. NFC chips may have other functions, but the money is in payments. And that is what will drive its acceptance.oh so when apple comes out with something its innovative.. but when its made by someone else its "who uses that? that tech is way too far ahead of out time"... yeah ok... nfc, just wait to see what tech tiles can do, google wallet, already sharing files and so on... just because apple doesnt have it yet or made it, its not a bad thing to start having new technology..

Mobile payments will. It may not necessarily be NFC though. I expect the iPhone two generations from now will have some form of mobile payment that gets incorporated into Passbook. Outside chance for inclusion in next year's phone.Word. My Visa card had it. I tried it at a BP gas station long ago and it could never get it right and I would end up swiping my card anyway. NFC sounds cool and all but there is no real world (USA) applications for it to be a necessary thing. Hopefully a year or two from now it will pop.
