AQUA 8S RETURN SUMMER 2025 *JB FINAL BOSS ERA*

I feel like the heel curve is huge to this shoe, along with the paintbrush graphic plate. Above the stitching, it should be dominated with more aqua and purple with little to no black. Makes the plates stand out more. That is something the 2007 and 2015 missed in comparison to the original.

I love my pairs and don't regret doubling up, but without a doubt, the '23 Playoffs were a step back from the '15 Aquas, which is wild considering that JB/Nike has been doing pretty well lately with improving silhouettes over time. They didn't fix the issues that the '15 Aquas had (e.g., inner bootie needing to be taller, pull tab needing to be a little larger and longer, heel needing a sharper V-shape, etc) and instead made more mistakes on top of those issues. The heel stands straight up in the back with no curve/slant toward the toe, the toe box itself is too slanted, and the upper should have been completely monotone and used the exact same nu-durabuck/synthetic nubuck(?) that the '15 Aqua 8s used.

If, by some chance, they couldn't recreate the OG cracked texture look on that material, I'd have been fine without it. At least the upper would have been mostly perfect. Then there's the two-tone contrast issue that the upper has which stands out when viewed up close. It's also why even when adding more contrast to the cut lines, they look better yet at the same time kinda odd. The OGs were completely black, so the contrast provided by the bright cut lines looked better.

The 2023 release was a solid 7/10 imo but it's a huge step back from the 9/10 release that was the 2015 Aqua 8s.
What i didnt like about the 2023 playoffs is the sizing. The Aquas from 2015 i went tts and they felt and looked amazing but the 2023 playoffs tts was way too snug and felt more narrow and then the half size up made my feet looked huge.

If nothing else we've learned, there's an audience for everything, especially on NT.

Ain't nobody worried about the heel curve
Then what is gonna separate from the last release then? You know they not gonna just release a new 2015 version. Something is going to be different. So why not worry about a feature thats true to the 1993 before JB gets dumb with something else that has nothing to do with the original at all? I doubt the heel will be fixed. There will be a change, I would just prefer the change be closer to the original. Whatever it may be.

bro that back is a ruler :wow:

funny I was looking at the 2007s at the consignment shop at the mall

Used. Paint was minor cracked no box for 150

Really thought about it then I remembered the 2015s I passed on bc my 07s were still good. I wore those until the nuback literally disintegrated.

Now I see this 2025 news and debating whether to wait for find a 2015 at a deal

People that don't care about them looking closer to the OG pair aren't* worried about the heel curve.

2023 playoffs were an amazing shoe.
FTFY. I never said that the '23 Playoffs were a bad release. 7/10 is still above average, but they could have been better for the reasons I listed in my post. If you don't agree, that's fine. That's your opinion, but objectively speaking, they could have been better.

Same.... seeing a 2015 sz13 for 160 in really good condition. Really debating on pulling the trigger

Wow, best news I’ve seen all day. Been eyeing the 15’s for a while now but couldn’t justify the price. Also passed on the recent playoffs because I didn’t want to settle for those when I really wanted the aquas. Thank you JB but please don’t butcher these!

Just realized aqua are the only 8s I wear now. My 2015 pair is also still going strong, but I will probably sell em before this new release then unDS my playoffs I guess.

If you really like aquas you might Wanna cop cause them 2015s will prlly be cracking next few years I'd guess.
My 2007’s still going strong lol. These are a must though. May double if they sit. I still regret passing on the ‘15. One of those situations where they were sitting in my area and I said I’d come back for them and never did smh.

The 2015's had a perfect inner bootie and the upper was really soft and comfortable.
The 2023's playoffs didn't have a good inner bootie and the upper is heavy and not flexible.
I had the 2015 and sold them and i regret it, because i love the aqua's, but the Playoffs 23 do have a softer midsole and outsole than the Aqua's 2015, so maybe the cushion is just a little bit better than the Aqua's and it is a big big big improvement for me.
So the thing which afraid me the most for the Aqua 2025 is clearly the upper and the weight of the shoes.
Aqua's 2015 were really light compare to the playoffs23. If the playoffs had been as light as the aquas, i would have easily given them a 8.5/10 maybe a 9 and would have enjoyed my pair everyday.
Today i can't enjoy enough my playoffs 23 because they are still heavy, the heavier retros i think, and the inner bootie inside the toetox is inexistant and yes they are not comfortable. The first wear i had the pinkie toe issue, now it is better but i know they are not comfortable for my pinkie toe. I remember i also had the pinkie toe ini the aqua's but not like the playoffs.
And we still don't know what is the tech specs under the cardboard. I think it is still a bad cushionnig system, a fake air sole unit.
I had the playoffs toe box are totally symetric while the aquas were not. I have pic.
Last thing why i don't like my playoffs, is the paint on the outsole design, aquas were OG!! Playoffs 23 are fake! Because it is like you cut some piece and you assembly it. I don't know how to say that in english, but it was perfect on the aquas 2015.

It does feel soon to get these again, especially with the 2015's having all the OG detailing and still sat and collected dust at the outlets. But crazy to think it will have already been 10 years, so those midsoles are a ticking time bomb.

I'm guessing they'll tone down the glitter but hopefully they keep the rest the same. Starting to hate this process of selling off older versions of a shoe just to cop the same pair

I guarantee you these end up looking like the '07 release to please all the whiney babies that complained about the OG details on the '15 release. I hope I'm wrong though. I'd love some more Aqua 8s that are even more 1:1 than the the last release.

I want the paintbrush graphic plates to be a little higher than what they were on the 2015. They fixed em on the Playoffs . Everything else was perfect.
