A MAN ACCUSED of kicking a senior Asian woman in San Francisco’s Union Square area on July 21 is the same man convicted of attacking a Chinatown leader in a widely reported incident in 2021, records show.
The latest attack: James Lee Ramsey, 27, was arrested immediately after the latest incident, which occurred on Ellis Street near Market Street at around 11:15 a.m. last Friday. The victim, 88, was heading home after buying some avocados when he allegedly kicked her to the ground.

The victim was initially reported to have massive internal bleeding. Subsequent reports say she was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A career criminal: Ramsey, an Oakland resident, is the same man convicted of assaulting Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce President Carl Chan in 2021. At the time, Chan accused Ramsey of yelling “f*ck you Chinatown!” before striking him in the head.

The last reported incident occurred on July 20 at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, where the first robbery also took place. None of the stolen items have been recovered.

What happened: The victim, 31, was reportedly standing at the Queensboro Plaza subway station on July 22 when the suspect approached him and began yelling anti-Asian statements. Afterward, the suspect struck the victim multiple times on the left side of his face with a closed fist.

Good to see this incident is getting more news coverage.

The 51-year-old victim got into a fight with three ladies on the southbound F train near the West 4th subway station at around 8 p.m. Thursday, according to the NYPD. One of the suspects then allegedly made anti-Asian remarks, pulled the woman by the hair to the floor, and repeatedly punched her in the head, police said.

Nothing worse than a home invasion. To invade someone’s safe space is a boundary that shouldn’t be crossed. Hang them by their thumbs in the town square.
