Goodell might hold the keys to the kingdom, but he has to watch his own **$ also and can't be going all rogue on everybody in the league. I already think he may have pushed his luck a bit here with this suspension in terms of how the union will see it.

Guys we gotta keep in mind here, this isn't the first time this has happened...did anything happen to him previously? No. How many times can you expect Goodell to put up with his behavior and it go unwarranted? If the suspension came from the first incident i would understand some outrage from it, but this, not so much.

If you want to use this argument as a valid point, please enlighten me as to why there are not more incidences like this happening? Why are chicks not claiming rape all the time with these famous athletes? What, Ben is an exception? They unfairly target him for these "claims"?

The thing is, it shouldn't be that difficult to get a rape case in court if it really was a rape... the chick didn't really hesitate to goto the authorities, but the doctors found nothing indicating rape, right? So what exactly is her claim here, and why hasn't she gone back to get interviewed by police again after the initial one?
This chick knew she was in the VIP section with a famous athlete... so it's not like she just brought up charges against a random dude. Yet there's no sign of rape from the rape test, they really can't put any sort of case together to even bring charges against him, and she refuses to cooperate on the story anymore... Umm... does that make sense to anybody ?
He didn't rape her, i never said he did. Sexual assault and rape are two completely different things...like I've said pages back sexual assault is nearly impossible to prove.

That's a good point champ, we can start with Kobe Bryant's case from a few years back and then work our way up to Duke's lacrosse players from a few years back as well.
deuce king is 100% right. he just opened the floodgates.
Thanks champ.

of course it is...but that and a dollar will get you a large sweat tea at McDonald's. The media will paint this as the Union rushing to the defense of an accused rapist who at the very least tried to lure a young woman to have sex in the back of a night club. Even for the NFLPA image IS everything nobody is going to risk that kind of negative publicity over this issue. If the police report wasn't out or Ben got accused of punching some dude in the jaw I'd be with you. But on this issue, the public, fans, and owners would turn on them so quick they'd have zero leverage to negotiatie anything with Goodell...and with new labor talks coming up they not trying to give up any leverage to the owners and Goodell right now.
This opportunity? I think this would qualify as the exact opposite of an opportunity, having to sit out 6 games and goto rehab for some made up disesase. But thanks again for the life advice, didn't realize you doubled as a psychologist.
That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out, is this guy Roger Goodell commissioner of the NFL or a part-time Dr. Phil in training??

Whole thing is a joke. Just come out and say it like it is - this is the only way to appease the female fanbase you've now made the league cater to first and foremost. Housewives and grandparents, the only fans who matter to the NFL.
It isn't a joke, and that's what you dont get. Dude clearly has some serious issues that tend to involve consumption of alcohol and the subsequent predation of women.

so you named two plus Ben, so 3 incidences in how many years vs how many thousands of pro athletes?? I think that's a damn good record if you ask me...if your theory were true the TVs and paper's would have nothing but that nonsense in it about women claiming rape...know why there isn't? Maybe because it isn't the case!! Nooo way who would have thought of that!! I don't think you would consider Duke Lacrosse players famous athletes either, but whatever makes you happy. And if you really want to go into it that was the first time Kobe was accused...how many times is this for Ben? So when it boils down to it, you have the Duke Lacrosse scandal...anything else you want to add to your argument that women claim rape champ?
deuce king is 100% right. he just opened the floodgates.

Yeah they did....but what are you getting at here? Are you saying IYO this girl sabotaged Ben and the entire NFL just to make them look bad for *++%! and giggles? What about the other sexual assault claims? Are you saying those are fake too? Why are you so quick to defend Ben yet jump all over the women who claimed this saying their claims are false? Just wondering bro.
