Better Call Saul Season Thread - Season Six - April 18th

My dude!

You STAY quoting me and coming at my neck

Get off my **** bruh.. Every time I turn around you're quoting me when I'm not even talking to you.

Fall back. Find some other NTer to have a crush on.

:| :|
Sure. I got what you were saying at first.

Just messing.

Would you agree that there aren't many black dudes in new Mexico with Latin sounding names?

Hell, isn't it like... 5% black out there? Lolol.

No idea. I'm from the northeast and I know/have known a good amount of hispanic black guys with Latin names. I wold assume there would be more latin/south american emigrantsin the southwest.

I figured it allllllll out. :eek

I learned in Beverly Hills Cop 2 that Carlos in Spanish means Charles. And a shorter name for Charles is Chuck.

Saul's brother Chuck, is really a half brother, of Chilean decent, under the alias of Carlos Boozer, as mentioned on the previous page.

And Mike, was in Beverly Hills Cop 1.

Carlos Boozer now resides, in Beverly Hills.

So Carlos, is really Chuck, and is related to Gus, which is how Saul comes to meet with Gus, when Carlos/Chuck meets with Mike in Beverly Hills and vouches for him. :eek

Eddie Murphy foreshadowed these events in the mid 80's, but we weren't ready for it.

"Chinge sun puerco signed Carlos"

I'm mad I even brought it up not that someone else wouldn't have eventually :{
It's not that you questioned. That'd be easily dismissed.

It's why you're saying they could be related. It's ******* stupid in this context :lol

If anybody is going extreme it's you. Black guy with hispanic name shows up on the show? Gotta be related to Gus :|

I kinda get it though, say some wild dumb **** try to keep on defending it but once reason or logic is brought in to it might as well switch to it having to be something personal.

How about you stop posting altogether? or better yet put me on ignore so you won't have to read me coming at your neck.

My dude. You sound like a stalker trying to justify stalking.

:lol

Fall back my g. It's creepy. Been going for a few months.

Chill...

Found this on another board

What I’m really focusing on are the intentional choices made by the showrunners. The lingering shots show the side of his face, like a profile angle, in order to emphasize the things that they DO have in common visually: his glasses, his shirt, his tie, his haircut. These are all things designed by the showrunners. If it was a facial resemblance (which they do not share) then it could mean nothing. The fact that it is intentional choices makes me think that the resemblance is… INTENTIONAL!
Let’s talk about what he’s like too. He’s smart. He doesn’t need to take notes, but when Chuck condescendingly suggests that he does, does he start a fight? No, he respectfully gets out a notepad and begins to take notes. (What would Gus have done?) He’s professional and focused, but when he sees Jimmy, he is charming, warm, and friendly. Remind you of anyone? Maybe someone who was intensely focused and professional but would also hold family barbecues, smile warmly, and never let his own ego get in the way of his business.

I thought this was pretty cool insight.

May be a reach but I can see it

All hypotheses, though. Just random guesses. No one is right it wrong in their prediction or guess.

oh god.. :lol
these "hypotheses" remind of some astrology type steez where a palm reader tells you the most vague thing and the person runs with it and tries to make some kind of connection because they want to believe so bad.

oh so ernie stands for ernesto? there are no black guys in new mexico named ernesto b, he has to be of chilean descent on the strength of the skin tone alone b.
and he wears glasses and is polite? and drives an evo? nobody working in that kind of job can afford an evo b, that's that inherited drug money right there b.
he's only been on screen for a couple of seconds, but I can tell that he is charming, caring, warm and kind b. he definitely handles himself professionally and gives off that gay-ish aura that can only be acquired through traits. I mean look at the way he dresses, sharp clothing with the tie and short hair and everything. he has to be gustavo's son b , it makes perfect sense.
:rolleyes

Lovin the show. Decided to start it up while aquiring GoT yesterday. Totally finished all 10 episodes by today. Didnt even watch GoT yet, cause that is just too much time wasted lol. Different vibes anyway.

Catching up on a few episodes I've missed. I love this show . The ending of episode 9,where saul figures out that chuck doesn't want him and reveals that he thinks he's not a real lawye, belittles his degree and saul gets quiet and lists the groceries and leaves.... Bruh. My eyes were watering because i could imagine how much it had to kill him inside. His big brother that he looks up to and aspired to be like after he cleaned up his act, spit on his accomplishments after he worked his way up from the mailroom. Greatest scene in the series so far.

too much reading to catch up on. Chuck was foul for what he did, but you've got to understand that he was making a very tough business decision. Remove family out of the equation, He feels that Jimmy wasn't adequate to fill the position. He knows Jimmy probably better than anyone else and he felt that he didn't have what it takes to be apart of the firm. It definitely is disheartening, especially because we know how much Jimmy loves chuck and wants to make him proud, but when chuck puts on the lawyer hat, he made the decision that he felt was best for the firm. Jimmy showed excellent dedication and tenacity when he discovered that case, but that alone doesn't warrant him a seat at the table, even tho I wanted him there too.

I could definitely tell that chuck was feigning enthusiasm when Jimmy passed the bar. It hurt me to watch him fake it. I knew he was half-hearted about it, but I didn't think that he would singlehandedly deny his bro. it never crossed my mind.

Not trying to get too into it but Chuck could've easily been upfront about it. Told Saul how he really felt. Business decision or not - tell him how you really feel and why.

You're absolutely right. He just didn't want hurt Jimmy's feelings so he was sneaky about it.

I think you just mad I don't agree with you so you call it stalking any time I quote you.

You're literally calling me quoting you stalking :lol Like I said you know what to do if you feel some type of way. Stop all this complaining. Low key looking for attention :{

Actually no, according to everybody else any lawyer coming to a firm with a RICO case would've been offered a partner position with the firm let alone a seat at the table in finishing the case they made.

It's one thing to think Jimmy isn't good for the firm but Chuck straight up said he wasn't good enough and never would be. When someone doesn't have faith in you like that them being brothers has to play in to it. Chuck simply didn't want him anywhere around his firm and probably doesn't even want him to be a lawyer since he feels Jimmy makes a mockery of it.

I get the feeling that had Jimmy solely did all the work by himself up to that same point (the meeting, the demand of money, figuring out it was a RICO case on his own) with no help, Chuck would still shun him and not accept him as a real lawyer.

Also yall gotta dead the Gus was gay talk, being meticulous doesn't mean you like boys lol

It was heavily implied that Gus was gay and Max was his lover.

On a different topic, seems like nobody in here noticed that Marco forshadowed the car Saul has in BB.

When they were in the house after the girls left, Jimmy tells Marco that hes a lawyer, Marco says somthing like "You must me killin it out there, driving around in a white Caddy"

I caught that as well. Additionally, they incorporated a white 97-99 DeVille just like Sauls in the first episode. When he's leaving the courthouse walking through the parking lot, it looks like he's about to get into the familiar Cadillac, but instead he gets into the POS Hyundai. Makes me think he may end up buying it off another lawyer he knows. Maybe the bald DA he's always trying to cut deals with ?

Had a dude at my job looked dead on like gus with the glasses, body and all. We called called him GUS , took pictures with him daily and posted it on facebook. yea everyone thought that was GUS. I know he get sick of us before i quit

Started rewatching BB. In the episode where Walt meets Saul for the first time he tells him his actual name is mcgill and he uses a fake Jew name so he looks legit.
