Car looks great overall, but the sides of the car do look long and bland to me for some reason. I think putting M-Sport stripe graphics on the sides of the door or something would look really nice.

BMW M4 to debut in Detroit, lose manual transmission

BMW took the wraps off its M4 Concept at Pebble Beach last weekend, and many speculated that the highly anticipated production version of the sleek new two-door sports coupe would debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. But a well-placed source tells Autoblog that the E92 M3's successor won't arrive in Southern California this November. Instead, the German automaker will wait until the Detroit Auto Show in January for its first official reveal.

An all-new 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbochargers is expected under the hood, and it should provide about the same horsepower as the current 4.0-liter V8 (rated at 414 horsepower), but with much more torque that arrives lower on the tachometer. The lightweight engine is said to have an impressively high redline, which is unusual for a turbocharged engine.

Unfortunately, Save the Manuals members aren't going to like this next bit of news. After four generations of three-pedal M3 models, our source says the upcoming F82 M4 will arrive with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard equipment – with no manual option – just like the latest iteration of the track-ready Porsche GT3 (few have complained about the automaker's PDK after driving the latest sports car from Stuttgart). In exchange for some moans, groans and gripes from enthusiasts, BMW's DCT mounted aft of the M4's inline-six will provide quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy.

I've ehard about that for a while... looks kinda nice, but unnecessary... what I really want is a sedan-like coupe...

Yeah it has been reported for a while now. I still find it ridiculous, they can't even say it will compete with the CLA because this can't cost less than the 3-series.

It's funny that they camo the emblem on the hood like that huge grill isn't an indication that the car is a BMW.

It is ridiculous because they now have a 3-series, 4-series Gran Coupe, and 5-series.  Is the size difference between a 3-series and 5-series so much that there has to be an intermediate car?

2014 BMW Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe

Renowned German auto tuners Alpina recently took to the floor at the Tokyo Motor Show to unveil their latest advanced BMW creation: the 2014 BMW Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe. Sporting Alpina’s adaptive sport suspension in conjunction with a Switch-Tronic-equipped 8-speed sport-automatic transmission, the B4 Bi-Turbo Coupe pairs a modern straight-six 3 liter engine with a duo of turbochargers – thus creating 410 hp, 442 lb-ft of torque, acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed approaching 190 mph. Signature Alpina details include the likes of two elliptical double tailpipes and 20″ wheels, as well as a high-performance braking system that features 14.5″ discs up front and 13.5″ discs in back. Just as impressive as the high-powered, aerodynamic coupe’s exterior – and Lavalina leather-lined interior – is the tuned car’s fuel economy: the B4 is rated at about 31 mpg. Alpina’s B4 is slated to be available as early as May of 2014 starting at €57,647 EUR (approximately $78,102 USD).

The 80s called - they want their style back.

I, too, didn't like the integration of the headlights into the kidney grills, but now it's actually one of my favorite aspects after having the F30 for just over a year...

That flush mount spoiler on the Alpina is :smokin ...

Ahead of next month’s official unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show, BMW leaks some choice imagery as well as the specifications to its 2015 M3 and M4 models. On the outside each sedan sports a subtle power dome in its hood, M3/4-branded strakes on each front fender, split-five-spoke 19-inch wheels, and carbon-ceramic brakes. Under the hood, both cars pack a 430-horsepower, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine with the choice of a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission.
