Book/Documentary Recommendations?

Decided yesterday, since I've been out of school for break really, that I wanted to read more and become more aware of what's going on in the world. So far, I've only been able to finish one book. So NT, any good books out there that y'all recommend preferably non-fiction? I have a tendency of being able to start on a book and never finish it, so I really want interesting reads. Oh and any documentaries that I could watch on youtube/netflix or whatever would be greatly appreciated as well.
