Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

I think people may appreciate Mad Men later in life as they get older. I don't know anyone under the age of 25 that likes the show and I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to bet that the people in this thread calling it "garbage" are under 27.
I'm 33. I just got tired of the same theme every season. Much like Dexter...how many times you gonna have him getting away scott free with some cockamaymi contrived kills?
bruh a whole season in a barn...srs
That was cause of MM's budget. But, i dont disagree with you cause I only liked the murk of the Sophia at the end.
S1 was good everything else was trash. Most of the fans seem to like bad writing and worse acting.

Not gonna ever get tired of Don being Don but if you pay attention he's clearly growing as a character to the show's conclusion.

Also gratuitous sex isn't what the show needs. If that's what you want tune in and stick to Showtime.
I like it cause it's entertaining and I'm a fan of the comics. And sex is a big part of Don Draper..how cant you benefit from seeing some *** and tittays?

ahh the old if you dont like it, it's because youre not old enough, I'm 26 you mean to tell me 12 months from now it'll be a better show?

Mad Men is boring to me the end.

I read this thread almost entirely and I'm always smh at how so many have love for the dbag soulless todd and want jesse and flynn dead. That is like *** backwards.

After what they did to andrea. todd needs to die slow.

Could give a damn about some ******** code of not snitching or jr. being ungrateful.

Todd is the worst piece of **** in this whole show. **** him and the nazis

It wasn't personal.

I'm 28. What is Mad Men about? A dude who gets laid a lot and wears nice suits? That's all I took from it, and that **** was boring.
you need to take a rhetoric class to delve deeper into it seems.

I was invested first few seasons then I said "ehh, waste of DVR space"

Jr is by far the most annoying person on the show but killing him on the last ep would be the worst possible thing they could do to him. Being a mumbling clueless real life version of an annoying south park character is not a good reason to kill him. Other than annoy the viewers he has done nothing wrong, if they were to kill him they should have done it in the first minute of the first episode so we never would have met him, but now that hes made iit this far it would suck if he died

That's exactly how I ended it. Went to go watch it on the dvr and I asked myself "why?". Deleted the recordings and the recording settings.

I thought most people are tired of twd already. The beginning of each season has optimism then by the middle we wonder why we keep watching. They make the last 2-3 episodes wild and then the cycle starts over again.

If you need your shows to have violence and action, Mad Men is not for you. The show is built heavily on script and character development. It also very subtle and nuanced. It isn't as in your face as Breaking Bad. Yes, Breaking Bad offers nice easter eggs and symbolism but if you just take the show at face value you can still follow the story. Mad Men forces you to pay attention, listen, and interpret. There's a reason it has won so many Best Drama Emmys.

I'm 23 btw.

Mad men was good when it was him and betty now its just slogging. I thought the point of don draper is that there s no character, **** whitman had character because he was a real person

-Walt knows the blue is still out there and that Jesse is alive to cook it

-He goes to meet with the Aryans to tell them he has right to his product/legacy and they can't cook anymore

-He sees Jesse is a slave, and though inside he wants to save him, he doesn't

-Aryans tell him in typical "Gus manner"....f*** with us and we'll kill everyone in your family

-Walt has a little skirmish in anger and they kidnap him

-To send a message, they drive to Skylar's house and Todd pops her in front of Walt in the van, they dispose of the body

-Walt Jr. doesn't smell pancakes in the morning and realizes his mom is gone, calls the cops

-Cops pin her dissapearance on Walt.

-Meanwhile, Jesse overhears Todds plan to do one last cook with him, then he'll waste Jesse

-Jesse strangles Todd to death in the lab as they finish up the cook....."Die.....B*tch."

-He sees Todd's gun on his waist.....picks it up.....aims at his own head

-"Bang!" Outside Jesse hears sounds of a M60 right as he's about to merk himself

-The shooting lasts like 4 hrs, but finally he hears Mr. White's voice...."Jessie?"

-Jesse hides the gun in his back pocket

-Heartfelt dialogue between the two is engaged

-Mr. White helps Jesse out of his hole

-Pop, one bullet to the forehead of Mr. White

-He frantically searches Mr. White, takes the ricin, and hurriedly grabs the m60 as another car pulls up

-It's Lydia coming for those 50 lbs

-She's like wtf! and begs Jesse not to kill her

-"Wipe down this" and he pops her

-Takes the ricin. Lays down staring at the stars....

Flashforward 15 yrs:

-We see Brock gangbanging, hella tatted up

-We see Marie at Macy's about to snatch that Gucci

-We see Walt Jr. eating a bday breakfast with Louis at Denny's....his age spelled out in bacon

-We see Holly approached by a shady character after school...."Yo, you ever had that blue?"

-We see Saul managing a Taco Bell in Idaho

-We see Grey Matter has tanked with its shareholders

-We see a chemistry teacher explaining to his class how chemicals change...

Saying Mad Men is just about a guy who gets laid and people who drink is very reductive. It would be like saying The Sopranos is "Just about a mobster who kills people" or Breaking Bad is "about a guy who gets cancer and cooks meth". You're missing the larger themes of the show. And it's not meant to be an insult, it's not as if all the themes and concepts are hidden and you have to decode them :lol but it's deeper than the surface dismissals of "Oh he's just drinking and cheating every season". Don, Peggy, Pete, have all become complex and developed characters over the course of the show. And anyone saying "It's still the same show" either stopped watching or can't pay attention :lol It's not the same stories, last season was incredible and I can't wait for their final seasons.

It's a slower paced show without any action, so it's difficult to compare watching Breaking Bad vs. Mad Men in that respect. Watching Breaking Bad is an experience.. there's tension and suspense, which Mad Men can't offer in the same way. Again, saying it's just the same stuff would be like saying Breaking Bad is just "Walt and Jesse get in over their heads, then they get a plan to save themselves" Wasn't that the case with Krazy 8?... then Tuco?... then Gus?...

Mad Men is slower and some people just can't get into it.. I understand that. But just because you can't get into it or you get bored doesn't mean it's not good. It's still one of the best shows ever.

And y'all Team Walt dudes really need to calm down.

Everyone that's opposes Walt does not have to die.

Wouldn't be surprised if some of y'all would be calling for Holly to take a trip to Belize if she threw up on Walt when he kidnapped her.

That piece of **** Jr. though.

How dare he disrespect Walt like that after finding out that his father is drug kingpin, who he also believes is responsible for the death of his beloved Uncle Hank. That ungrateful piece of **** deserves to die.

I honestly don't think he's going to do anything to the Grey Matter folk. I think that what they said showed him how he would be perceived in regards to his blue meth. When he left Grey Matter, they went on to do major things and his part in it was completely dismissed. If he walks away from the dope game and goes to jail while the blue stuff is still out there, then the same thing will happen to him again.
