I finished the series finally. Maybe it's just me but I feel it should have ended differently. I mean come on he died by his own gunshot wound?

Also what was walter jr.'s purpose in the whole show? He didn't really add much to the story.

He was half of Walt's motivation to start cooking. He was the only member of Walt's family that he related to. He was proud of his son and it grounded him in a way. Whenever Walt felt like "**** it" his son would be down for breakfast and it gave Walt some hope and motivation to see things through in a way that kept his family the safest given his unsafe career choice.

Last August I started watching BB and ran through the series in like 3 weeks in time to watch the final 2 episodes live. Running through those episodes was one of the greatest cinematic experiences ever man. It was so captivating.

Last night I finally downloaded HBOGO on my PS3 to begin The Wire, only to find out every single episode was filmed in 4:3. I am appalled. I really don't know if I'll be able to watch all those episodes on my 55" plasma with 2 huge black bars on the sides of the screen

You'll just have to deal with it :lol

You should have the option of stretching the 4:3 to a widescreen, even though it'll look weird and stretched out. I say just get used to it.. The Wire isn't filmed in the same way as a Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc.... not as much of an emphasis on framing, camerawork, cinematography, etc. so you're not going to be missing out on that much since it's not widescreen.

Maybe I was more used to 4:3 TVs since I didn't have a legit big screen/widescreen TV until super late, so it didn't bother me that badly.
