Chrysler to guarantee gas at $2.99 a gallon! For three years!

Who needs an 18-cent a gallon gas tax holiday from pandering politicians when you have Chrysler on your side! With gas prices rapidly approaching and exceeding $4 a gallon across the nation, Chrysler is offering up a deal that just might make people averse to the looks of cars like the Chrysler Sebring and Jeep Compass think twice. Between now and June 2, anyone who buys any new Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep vehicle will be able to register for a "Let's Refuel America" card. Once the customer registers a credit card with the program, they will receive a new card that they can use the card at participating gas stations to fuel up their new car or truck. When the card is used, the credit card the owner has on file will be billed $2.99 a gallon for either regular gas, E85 or diesel fuel. Chrysler will pay the difference. The best part is the price is locked in for THREE years. Now that's real savings. There are of course limitations on the deal. Get more details on the deal and Chrysler's full press release after the jump.

That is one hell of a deal right there, makes me think twice about jumping on the Chrysler bandwagon... not. I mean, that's cool, but not feeling any cars from there line up. One thing is for sure, were gonnasee about a cool billion more 300c's, Chargers and Jeep Compass on the road now,

So I guess this means we will never see gas less that $3 dollars a gallon? I mean, what if the impossible happends and gas goes back down?

That's a great idea, but other companies will soon follow suit with probably cheaper prices.

What happens if gas goes back down?

meh. chrysler is just scared of hybrids.

just think about it, chrysler builds a gas guzzler, throws out the $3 card, the consumer is still paying good deals of money...not to mention chrysler probablygets a cut out of the gas profits

improved hybrids ftw.

if this card thing really makes you buy a Chrysler thats your fault.

people have been buying chryslars without the gas deal for years. there suck with a Chrysler and didn't get any cheap gas

most of the cars ppl are naming prob. dont even use 87 gas. so kinda worthless.

chrysler must be so desperate to sell cars..
That card along with some of their more fuel efficient vehicles (Compass, Commander, Journey, etc..) is not such a bad deal at all.
