Can a cannabis possession charge keep me from buying a house??

Right now I'm in the process of purchasing my first home, got all my paper work and order and hopefully can close out soon.

My only fear is where I'm moving the association asked for background check and the only blemish I got on my record is a possession charge I got two years back... Is that enough for them to deny me?

Have any of you beat a background check with worse?
Should I be stressing this ?

I don't think you should be stressing. Are you able to have it expunged? I'm sure your positives outweigh one negative. Plus I'm sure there is a weed smoker or two on the board. You'll be straight.

Was it felony or misdemeanor possesion. Felonys hold you back in life.

It was a misdemeanor just had a dime on me, they gave me a PTA (promise to appear)

All they care is about is money: financial history, income and current debts. The only thing that could hurt you related to this situation is any debt associated with that particular incident (basically, a fine). They would certainly take that into consideration if it hasn't been paid off yet. And, yes, they will find out about it. If you're in the clear, you're fine.
